Did you ever meet someone really smart, but

This is quite common...

I'm more impressed and surprised by those who are NOT that bright who are deftly able to handle people from different backgrounds, ethnicities, education, social/economic backgrounds, genders...

That has always been something that fascinated me. It's usual the most seemingly regular person...

The smartest person usually not always goes to extremes of anti social awkward or blowhard conceited asshole.

There are different a types of smarts like book smarts and street smarts for eg. All those coons we see on tv like Clarence Thomas aren't stupid yet they believe in some dumb shit anyways

Emotional intelligence (EI) or emotional quotient (EQ) is the capacity of individuals to recognize their own, and other people'semotions, to discriminate between different feelings and label them appropriately, and to use emotional information to guide thinking and behavior.[1] Although the term first appeared in a 1964 paper by Michael Beldoch, it gained popularity in the 1995 book by that title, written by the author, psychologist, and science journalist Daniel Goleman. Since this time Goleman's 1995 theory has been criticized within the scientific community.

I guess smarts are relative to what it's being compared to. We can't be smart in every situation. Your not going to be intelligent at everything and you won't be clever at everything. It's all relative to the context it's placed in.

For example I may be smart in IT and computers around some people but appear dumb around other IT professionals who know more, depending on who I'm with.

I think my people skills are gold but I see some other people who are just great with people in a way I'm not and I'm looking at them like, "They don't know how unreliable that mutha fucka is." But that person is winning on people skills. Even when they do fuck up their people skills be so good they bullshit they way out of it. In this job market that is valuable when it seems it seems to be about who you know rather than what you know. How well you fit in than how well you work.

Could be introverts. I just discovered I'm an introvert.

I don't waste energy on people I don't want to/need to know.
I'm always thinking of shit in my head and people wonder why I'm quiet.
If I'm at a function, I gotta break away unannounced, go somewhere and chill.
And if I feel like people don't want me around, I ain't gone stay around.

yep.. all the time. low EQ

Being an introvert has nothing to do with not understanding people.

Shit introverts often get people better than anyone else.
but it has a lot to do with not wanted/needing to deal with people outside of my inner circle

i gives no fck about understanding other people that i encounter in passing

i muster just enough convo to conduct my business with clients...especially with cacs

Once knew a savant who not only completed the NY Times crossword puzzle with in 15 mins, he actually made his own and had it published in a few newspapers, yet the same kid used to asked me some dumb shit like what was a fire hydrant for...
This just goes to show how the brain operates where the ability to store information and process it are two different things..

Nah, but I think a few signs can relate to that.

Introvert.....the new word millennials latch onto so that they aren't called shut ins.

Shut In isn't offensive, tho. Especially if you embrace it.

Introvert is just a scientific way to say "I'm really a nice guy, I'm just not friendly."

Like I'll save your life, but I don't want to have to be your friend after that.

I just don't fuck with most people. I don't wanna get to know you, hang with you, nothing.

And people will get offended that you don't wanna fuck with them like that. And that's when they start calling you all kind of assholes, shit like lame, weird, shut in, etc., but they don't understand that I'm not sociable because I don't have social skills or I think I'm better than you or whatever, I just want to do my own thing.

I just like laid back, lowkey shit. And once I see somebody ain't on the same shit I'm on, I don't even want to bother wasting my time and energy like that.

Brah, this is me too

So, somebody help me out here.....Aspergers is like autism, right? I mean, it seems to be the same type of symptoms. So, what's the difference?

Autism runs on a spectrum. People with Aspergers have autistic tendencies but still function in regular society, rather than being totally "Rain Man" with it. Bill Gates are Mark Zuckerberg are allegedly high-functioning autistics.

Yep. My dad worked with a guy whose son is a genius. At 16 he was taking college courses at CalTech and was competing in robotics competitions with colligiate students since a teenager. Now years later he is working IT for barely above minimum wage.

Sometimes I feel like this guy, Henry Bemis.

To be honest, I'm more misanthropic than introverted. I'm so sick in the head, that if I looked up into the day or night sky and I saw a 50 mile wide meteor/comet heading directly for Earth, I'd probably smile.
