Did Willow Smith just drop a song better than her dad's entire catalogue?

In terms of complexity, maybe so. The song starts in 7/4 tempo and goes in 4/4 on the chorus and back to 7/4 for the verses with jazz chords all over the place.
Its reminds me much more of something Esperanza Spalding would do.
I've seen her live before and I'm shocked this song came from her. If it turned out to be ghost-written, I wouldn't be surprised at all. For now, I'm gonna give her her props and say that musically, its really well done.

But its like when your wife who can't cook says she made dinner and it tastes five-star. You start looking for the boxes in the trash.

Song starts at :38

That song is tailor made for her. Overly complicated tangled web of melodies. Just like her mixed up family.

O.P. can't be serious wit this bullshit here?

A little stolen Paramore, a little stolen Hiatus Kaiyote.

Good song, but I figured she would be further along in crafting her own style, her own greatness by this age.
I admit, the title is clickbait but I wanted to see if anybody would offer a real answer. They didn't. This is about the closest.
i don't hear Paramore in this - maybe in the lyrics? Haiatus Kaiyote would definitely do something in this time signature. She is nowhere near the level of Nai Palm in singing or writing, but I will give it to her producers, this is probably the most complex song I've heard her do.

To answer the others:
Brand New Funk's drums are a sample from Bouncy by Pleasure and Summertime is a sample of Summer Madness by Kool and The Gang just sped up and the beat is James Brown track that escapes me at the moment. I'd look it up but I don't feel like doing research to make a point.
Willow's song seems to be original and played by real musicians. I'm still waiting on that complex Will Smith song that is musically intelligent with different time signatures and complex chordal arrangements.
And YES, I like Summertime and Brand New Funk better but I'm judging Willow's song from an unbiased perspective of musicality.
Calling me names doesn't make me wrong. Post evidence.

This shit sucks, please drop the name of the strain you're smoking. When I start smoking again I need to give it a shot.
I don't smoke, bruh.

Not a jazz fan, huh?

I could explain how its interesting but you might not get it.
The song is in A major but they seem to be playing and mixing in chords minor over the major. Then, just before the pre-chorus it goes deeper into an A phrygian, which darkens the song up. The chorus switches to a standard F to B flat progression in 4/4/ that pulls you completely out of the 7/4 time signature. I know it sounds like I'm smoking but musically, that shit is pretty dope and clever. I'm hearing suspended chords on the verses, too. That makes it sound jazzy. That's why I don't believe that she wrote it.

The click bait title was unnecessary

It's a good song and would definitely fit with the proper soundtrack especially TV.

But to answer your question...

Of course not even close

But I like this direction for Willow seems like she still in discovery mode which is good because this is very interesting production and I was not expecting that at all from her. This is a good lane.

I don't think I'd listen to it again though.

Bro, I've been playing tenor saxophone for over 40 years (jazz), and I've been playing flute (classical) for almost 30 years. I said that to say I understand scales and modes. But, if you have to explain a music piece like you just did... that piece is trash.

Ronnie Laws wrote a piece called "Thoughts and Memories" (fusion) and its in 7/4 time... and if flows way better than her crap.

Pushing and peeling myself out of my disguise
Looking at you, now I am wondering who am I
If I could try to take you back, I couldn't define
Feeling absence of time
Knowing all is decided
There's nothing here left to find
The story's all in my mind
Pushing and peeling the layers that cover my mind
Looking into the shadow, now I notice the light
Magic is real, when you see it inside, you decide
It's like a snake shedding skin
Creating life to begin
And all you know has vanished again
Transcending virtue and sin
Feast my eyes on lower things
While beauty is a symptom of life
Gotta decide if I'm gonna see it, why?
Feast our eyes on lower things
When suffering is craving the light
Gotta decide how we're gonna heal it, why?
Feast my eyes on lower things
While beauty is a symptom of life
Gotta decide if I'm gonna see it, why?
Feast our eyes on lower things
When suffering is craving the light
Gotta decide how we're gonna heal it, why?
Yeah, gotta decide how we're gonna feel it
I (desperately) am trying to find out
Gotta know that life is fragile
Gotta know, but gotta go
I stood in awe inside a temple
Of a God I didn't know, wanna go
Find the one who understands
Why we wait for pain to change us
To let me know what life is fragile
It's like a turtle in sand
Making way to the ocean
Almost meeting the end
Because the birds are in motion, oh
Feast my eyes on lower things
While beauty is a symptom of life
Gotta decide if I'm gonna see it, why?
Feast our eyes on lower things
When suffering is craving the light
Gotta decide how we're gonna heal it, why?
Feast my eyes on lower things
