Earlier this month, Smith posted a short clip on YouTube with the caption: “My favorite part of tour is seeing you all up close. Thank you for seeing me too.”

The video showed the rapper singing to a large crowd during a concert while fans cheered and stretched their hands towards him. He walked up to them as he performed, shaking as many of their outstretched hands as he could.

Some fans were also seen holding up signs declaring their love and adoration for the rapper. One lady could be seen holding up her hands to make a heart at Smith as he performed, and two fans held up a sign saying that the rapper’s song got them through cancer.

Fans Don't Buy The Large Crowds In The Rapper’s Video

Smith’s video didn’t receive the warm reaction the rapper expected, as fans were quick to call him out in the comments section for using AI-enhanced crowds.

One fan wrote, “Fake AI crowd, fake comments, bots like 21K likes for Will Smith?” and another asked, “Is that [an] AI crowd?”

Another fan slammed the Grammy Award winner, writing, “Imagine being this rich and famous and having to use AI footage of crowds and bot comments on your video. Tragic, man. You used to be cool.”

One fan mockingly advised Smith to “enjoy” his retirement, and another commented, “Someone in the crowd was holding [an] arm that moved. Hahahaahahahah, this is pathetic.”

One particularly upset user called the video an “abomination” because it appeared to be taken on a low-quality phone before being “heavily AI upscaled.” The user slammed Smith for opting for “degenerative slop” when he could’ve just hired videographers to help him out.

This wouldn’t be the first time fans have accused Smith of using AI. The “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” star recently released a new single, “Pretty Girls,” and fans had a field day making fun of its lyrics.

According to The Blast, fans joked that the star’s comeback song didn’t sound original enough and could very well be the product of AI. One fan wrote that he came up with “Pretty Girls” by asking ChatGPT to make him a “generic cr-ppy rap song.”

Another user jokingly wrote that Smith may have even asked ChatGPT to add “shitt--r lyrics” and make it the “worst song.”

The AI accusations against Smith come amid reports that he is facing financial troubles. The rapper is reportedly struggling under enormous bills from managing numerous properties.

As reported by The Blast, the “Pursuit of Happyness” actor reportedly had to sell one of his properties in Maryland for $795,000. He has also put up another property in Woodland Hills for $2 million.

An insider noted that Smith and his wife are struggling under the weight of impending financial doom and may not be able to hold out for too long.

I wouldn't be surprised of him doing that since he's a weird motherfuccka.

Yeah, that's what I think it was.....

The video was heavily upscaled and filtered, because at some partsnit definitely has that "fake" feel to it. Similar to when Phillips Tvs used to use their TruMotion 240hz enhancement.

Yeah but that was a retirement concert...he was gonna hang it up after....

I doubt it. He was way too talented to stop what he loved. The question to my mind is would he have adjusted his style to stay burning? I think of Natalie Cole, who did as well as a few others.

The fucked up thing is we'll never know. Mediocre talent we could say weeeeeelllll. But Mike was special.

MJ recognised he was an oldies act. The last album didnt have sales....

Michael Jackson's weakest-selling studio album is Invincible (2001), his final solo album before his death, which sold around 14 million copies worldwide. Although it topped the charts and went multi-platinum, its sales were considered low compared to his previous massively successful albums, and some critics viewed it as artistically less successful due to its length and disconnected sound, along with a lack of effective promotion.

The trends and sound coming out at the time before his death would not have fit him well at all. While an icon and GOAT for sure his relevance in POP music was definitely on the decline at that point.

Mike was well past doing it for money homie. And 14 million is a hit, those are hella numbers. Fuck the critics.

no one is saying theyre not...but Thriller and Bad raised the bar for him. MJs worst selling album is legend making for anyone else. But thats the point. Why do you think he called the last concert THIS IS IT?? While Mike did various genres from rock to R&B and funk he was primarily a pop artist. And pop and rap music doesn't age as well as other genres. Pop is 15 to 45 at the oldest. After that age how many POP artists do you see still selling huge numbers getting major spin and considered relevant to the younger generation??

Madonna's in her 60s and she looks like a drag queen trying to stay relevant. And while she doesn't admit it...she's an oldies act.
