Reports: Pistons And Palace Up For Sale​

Could "Six Championship Drive" be left without a champion?

There are reports the Pistons could be up for sale.

According to the Detroit News, Piston's owner Karen Davidson is considering selling the Pistons and Palace Sports and Entertainment.

There are also reports Mike and Marian Illitch, the owners of the Red Wings, are talking about possibly making an offer. Other sources say Ilitch in not a fan of the NBA, so he might be interested in the Palace but not buying the Pistons.

According to the article, the Ilitch's have not renewed their lease at Joe Louis Arena and face more than $10 million in structural repairs if the Red Wings were continue to play there.

The Ilitch's have been looking for a temporary home while they decide if, when, where and how, they might build a new arena in downtown Detroit.

They have been working on a lease agreement with the Palace Sports and Entertainment for a year.

That would make perfect sense for Illitch. That would place the Wings much closer to their 99.999% cracka fan base.
