Deron Williams Admits Confidence Loss, Feels Like He Let Brooklyn Nets Down

I never did consider him a top tier player.

His last few years in Utah, he was putting up good numbers, double doubles. He was right up there behind CP3 and Parker. Once he went to the Nets, he had already fallen off.

Jeff Teague and Kemba Walker puttin' up better numbers than D-Will now.

I understand he had a shitty playoff run but reading the comments, y'all trippng, he's still one of the top 10 point guards in the Atlantic Division...

i wish deron williams was as good as deron williams believes deron williams is.

:hmm:

he wasn't all that in college, is SLOW in comparison to other elite guards and plays shitty defense.

Yup....

I never thought THAT much of him. Good player obviously, but not a franchise changer.

This nigga need to find his man-hood.

D Rose blew out two knee caps and he still got the heart of a lion. Struggled out the gate, but still came back and was still going at it hard; fearless.

D Will is overrated and just making excuses. Nets invested too much money into bums. mainly Joe and D Will. And KG and Paul...because of their age.

Like Isiah said....he's a system player. Thats why him a Boozer had their best years in Utah. They not the go out and get it type of players. They aint shit unless they got a system thats catering to their handicaps.

I'll say it again...

I can't wait till next year..

because I now the spotlight is on all these players who were hiding when Lebron was getting grilled.

Dwight, Melo, Durant, Westbrook, K. Love, Deron, J. Wall, D. Rose, Dirk, Paul...all of them.

I respect Deron taking responsibility but it too little too late now...

he been mediocre pretty much since they signed him to that ridiculous contract...he kept getting a pass cause Bklyn was new and being were so obsessed with the Heat, Lakers, NYK and OKC.

All these cats getting BIG MONEY and aint producing...

and I hear crickets.

You forgot it took the NBA putting a all-star cast around Lebron and a lot of help from the refs just to get a ring. Dirk did that shit with his team as the leader and had some of the best playoffs game that I have seen in a long ass time. Hopefully when the NBA get finish with Lebron they don't put kd on another team I would rather see him do it with okc and the teammates he has now

lmao this guy

after all the fuckery we seen with okc so far in the playoffs and Westbrook basically having to bail your boys ass out you typed that with a straight face

but I am gonna fall back...cause your ass is ghost until the league helps out those fuckboys

Nigga be pulling a shady when the bears be losing

Those huge contracts take the fire out of most of those niggas bellies.

He has not come to that realization yet...

...or he can't say that shit publicly, and is lamenting the shit in private.

It takes a true competitor to still go hard after all of their wants and needs have been met.

wow...

and I aint even a fan like that.

I don't want to derail the thread but people still using excuses like THAT to shit on Lebron?

You do realize EVERY SINGLE PLAYER AND TEAM can claim the same right?

The big Lebron meltdown in the finals is just like Magic's?

Barkley went to Houston to make a big 3 remember...

And the Kings have a much better argument about refs...

And Cuban played the best defense against his OWN damn team to not compete for a a back to back title?

I could go on...

the point is Lebron was the first player to be under the ESPN AND social media scrutiny like NEVER before.

and all those other players hid out and were HAPPY and some even took shots at Bron during (D. Howard) but now that he got rings I see them breaking under the pressure. They got huge $ just to maybe entice Lebron to sign with the team  They can't handle the spotlight, hell they got family members defending them too.And its BETTER for the league because now all the fans have stopped worrying about the Heat and concentrating on their franchises.

The point is even in injury D. Rose AND the team AND his brother didn't handle the spotlight right, hell they stay pissing off the coach and that trade with Cleveland may have actually effected their playoff run and they got NOTHING in return.

All I'm saying is that players like Deron were hiding in plain sight...and if we weren't distracted he would have gotten KILLED and would be way more deserving then anything Lebron Wade or Bosh has done on the court.

I think the spotlight on my Knicks is GREAT...Melo need to feel the pressure, so does Dolan and now so does Jackson. This is the ONLY way the fans have any influence now.

Don't act like he went to some losing team and took won them a ring. He was the 1 calling himself the king and let people convince him he was better than he really is. I also said magic was Lebron b4 Lebron a played that needs his team to make him look good but gets all the credit when the team win

OKC would be at home if they had Deron williams.

Notice a trend.

Westbrook there = conference finals

westbrook not= go home.

as much as yall hate him and say he's a 2 guard he keeps on dishing out multiple assists and getting everyone involved and when the team is acting sluggish, continues attacking and keeping them in games until they come around.

he just KEEPS on averaging 27 points 8 boards and 8 assists for the playoffs, the only other person to average that is oscar robertson.

so it just keeps revealing it ain't cause of his play, it's cause yall are drones programmed to parrot lazy ass commentating.

and im gonna continue to laugh cause the facts are out and then you'll come in and get philosophical about how he should be doing this or that, totally ignoring the system he plays in and the teammates he has.

1 teammate, who has won scoring titles like it ain't nothing for multiple years with westbrook

The funny thing is Durant has been playing worst than he ever played and he's still putting up all-star stats. Okc is starting to get the calls Miami has been getting since the big 3 formed. I know the NBA is about to eventual put Lebron on the back burning and put Durant on a big market team and ride with him that when my basketball interest will go to zero but how come after all of these years y'all still don't understand how this works.

I said he's not a point guard. Y'all keep talking like Durant didn't do anything in the playoffs last year. The grizzlies had 3 to 4 guys on Durant and left his teammates open it's not his fault they couldn't score. I have never seen 3 defenders meet a player at half court like the grizzlies did last year.

THIS MUTHAFUCKA JUST DEMANDED A TRADE

The nerve of the bitch. I was going to make a new thread but what the fuck

Geltzeiler reports that there has been a falling out between Nets GM Billy King and Williams and that both sides want to part ways.

Sources have told Hoopscritic.com that this falling out between Williams and Nets management, specifically Nets GM Billy King, has resulted in a mutual decision between the two parties to split. Williams, and his wife, essentially want out of Brooklyn and King is more than happy to accommodate them.

Geltzeiler adds that this will be "easy said than done for King" considering the length and price tag on Williams deal, three years, 63-million dollars. "There's no guarantee that Williams gets dealt," Geltzeiler reports. "Both sides completely understand that the Nets may not be able to get rid of his contract in a way that works for the organization."

The lack of passion and leadership from Williams of late has led to the falling out. "There is widespread frustration in the organization with Deron's lack of confidence and lack of competitive fire," Geltzeiler reports. "Management and the coaching staff have tired of Deron and he's tired of being their object of disappointment."

In the piece, Geltzeiler brings up the Houston Rockets, who pursed Williams earlier in the year. King turned down the Rockets offer abruptly, but Geltzeiler believes that the Rockets can be back in play after Houston's GM Daryl Morrey was quoted of saying he was going to go after an All-Star this offseason. If the Nets were to look at the Rockets as a potential trade partner, Geltzeiler believes "King will not say no." He also points out that the Nets will be able to become a player in free agency if the Nets were to acquire the likes of Omer Asik and Jeremy Lin, who were reportedly offered to Brooklyn in the winter, the team can become a player in free agency as soon as 2015.

That's the point guy.

Nobody else can score so westbrook HAS to score. if he didn't HAVE to score and his teammates could put up consistent buckets he would have even MORE assists and he would take less shots.

that spotlight gets hella hot huh???

So basically Nets gonna get Asik and Lin???

I'm not as mad as I would think...

If Lopez comes back healthy and they can keep Pierce and Garnett for one more year...I could see it.
