I went to an early Dolby Cinema show yesterday.
Took My Iranian Co-Worker/Psuedo-Girlfriend (it's a Work joke) who's a HUGE Action and Denzel fan.
Though the audience was light for an early showing,
That didn't stop all the screaming reactions for sure.
Especially My Co-Worker
(Listening to Her yell for Denzel in her Accent and partial Farsi was hilarious).
Peeps were waiting for Denzel to burn some ASS!
Didn't disappoint.
Of Course, this film isn't going to make "BARBENHEIMER" bucks.
But Denzel (along with Tom Hanks) is that common "Everyman" actor who still pleases audiences.
Which makes Him an ICON among "regular" movie-going folks.
Shit was like an international modern-day take on "SHANE" and "HIGH NOON".
I'm tempted to see it again with a much larger crowd.
I did have a minor nagging issue with the film regarding McCall race not being used as a "plot point".
Especially in where the film took place.
Though I do understand the approach Washington and Fuqua wanted to take the character.
But I'm going to wait until more BGOL Peeps see it before I go into it.
Still didn't take away my enjoyment of the film though.
