Demorats cave again!!!!

Sure there is an excuse for the wealthiest country in the world to NOT offer healthcare to its citizens...It rhymes with capitalism!!! The same reason why you can go to Mexico and get the same drugs at a FRACTION of the price when compared to prices here. You mention this and all of a sudden you hate small business, America and don't support jobs.

This keeps happening because we have A LOT of money in our politicians pockets.
We have been programmed to accept capitalism as Good, and anything else as demon spawn.

Most don't understand that CAPITAL is MONEY is POWER is essentially how capitalism works. He who has the wealth, makes the rules. What that means is that white men had one HELL of a head start on the rest of us, since it is they who devised this demonic system.

It also means the wealthy can now order the manner in which aspects of our society operate by simply calling upon the six members of the SCOTUS they now own.

Some of those same wealthy people also own the 8 asshole "democrats" who just caved.

The wealthy are making the rules. Capitalism is working. Extremely well.

Tell that to the 27 million poor people and those with preexisting health conditions whom prior to the ACA were unable to get health insurance.
The ACA certainly is not a panacea and premiums are too high, thanks to Republican unwillingness to reign in insurance companies, but it was and is better than nothing.

What is needed is universal single payer health insurance but the GOP, insurance companies and stupid Americans who see that as evil socialism were in 2010 and still are fighting tooth and nail to keep that from becoming a reality. But you shitting on the ACA without taking into consideration the obstructive tactics placed upon it by bought and paid for politicians and greedy insurance company execs misses the mark and serves no purpose.

Honestly, I respect your point.

I am just sick and tired of being sick and tired of people making excuses for democrats. We need to wake the fuck up. Seriously, we won't hold them responsible for letting republicans steal a scotus seat, we won't hold them responsible for allowing people who literally launched a coup to get away with it, we won't hold them responsible caving the last time (courtesy of Schumer, if you recall), we won't hold them responsible for ANY fucking thing.

I am tired of excuses. They need to get out of the way or transform immediately. Your argument is like arguing in favor of sharecropping because at least it ain't slavery.

I cannot accept that. Not cut that way.

I figured that was the reason Tim Kane voted yes.
His constituents were definitely blowing up his phone because of being fired and not working

...how is that Democrats fault?!?!? If a hitman comes and kills your beloved gardener (don't want to put out death into the universe) do you NOT get mad at the person that hired the hitman?!!?! People elect crooks...crooks are gonna crook! Plain and simple, who is the last person to primary a senator in your state? I can't remember the last person to primary Dick Durbin here in Illinois. We are playing a game that we don't know the rules to.

In politics, as in life, he who has the power calls the shots. Democrats at present do not have the power to hold Republicans accountable for their fuckery. It's a majority numbers game and Republicans have the numbers in the House, Senate and the Supreme Court and Democrats don't and until they do via elections Democrats can shout from the rooftops that GOP is corrupt and working solely for the benefit of the rich and nothing will happen to stop that abuse of power.

To use a professional team sports analogy the Lakers are by the rules allowed to put five players on the court, but the Celtics are only allowed one. Who wins is a foregone conclusion. It is no different in the political game. Until Democrats vote in numbers that are sufficient to gain control of the levers of power in Washington Republicans will continue to do what they do and essentially say to Democrats "fuck you, we run this bitch and ain't shit you can do about it. It's disgusting and unfair but the GOP when in power has never been really bothered by optics and fairness to those outside the party is not a major concern. :hmm:

What does that mean? That means our healthcare will quadruple? If so, what was the point of holding out for the shutdown?

The Republicans were already lying blaming the entire shutdown on the Democrats, to fold and concede everything and receive nothing makes it fucking pointless

Trump administration to start seizing pay of defaulted student loan borrowers in January

More than 5 million student loan borrowers are currently in default, and that total could swell to roughly 10 million borrowers soon, the Education Department said earlier this year.

It will be the first time a portion of borrowers' paychecks has been at risk since the beginning of the Covid pandemic, when collection activity was halted.

Starting the week of Jan. 7, the Education Department expects around 1,000 defaulted student loan borrowers to receive notices of administrative wage garnishment, the spokesperson said. After that, the number of notified borrowers will continue to increase.

The U.S. government has extraordinary collection powers on federal debts, and it can seize borrowers' federal tax refunds, wages, and Social Security retirement and disability benefits.

The Education Department can seize up to 15% of a student loan holder's after-tax income to put toward their debt. By law, borrowers must be left with at least 30 times the federal minimum hourly wage ($7.25) a week, which is $217.50, said higher education expert Mark Kantrowitz.

Student loan holders have been under pressure from a weakening labor market, a barrage of changes to the lending system and recent trouble accessing relief programs. More than 5 million student loan borrowers are currently in default, and that total could swell to roughly 10 million borrowers soon, the Education Department said earlier this year.

More than 42 million Americans hold student loans, and the outstanding debt exceeds $1.6 trillion.

To try and avoid wage garnishment, consumer advocates say student loan borrowers should contact the government's Default Resolution Group and pursue a number of different avenues to get current on their loans, including signing up for loan rehabilitation.

Senate Democrats' three-year extension of expiring enhanced Obamacare subsidies was destined to fail as the Senate prepared to vote on dueling proposals.

The Senate appeared primed and ready to advance a government funding package, but a last-minute block from Senate Democrats forced Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., to abandon the plan, for now.

I think they will be forced to agree on at least a 2 year extension to avoid another shutdown. Repubs have too much pressure on them, and they don't want this to be mentioned during elections.

I talked to quite a few people who are forced to drop their insurance.
