Who is SWAC, lol!

The only two college teams I watch faithfully are JSU bc of Deion, and Memphis w Penny. Sometime Michigan for Juwan.

Deion has actually become my favorite athlete bc of going to JSU.

He’s underpaid but stated he is more concerned w his underpaid coaching staff.

Damn I’ll hate to see him leave JSU………but I understand.

Carry on…….

I wish I had multiple offers from other countries to do my thing. The U.S. sucks badly, I want to reject and dump them off. Based on my intel, they chase after you even though you want nothing to do with them.

I hope it works out for him, it will be interesting to see what happens to him not that I care. I just run across it with my research which has pique my interest somewhat, this bizarre behavior has taken place in the past with sports.

great chance I think the cheapest ticket we find online was $80

don’t want to take a chance buying one out there
Ticket and parking for me was under a $100.00 but I bought it right at the 2 minute mark of the Bayou Classic.

He should take the Colorado job and rebuild that program.

Bullshit !! That is the last job he should take. Colorado is arguably the worst football program in the country and is nowhere near close to being a major football power. Sanders can't resurrect it and his future coaching opportunities would take a huge hit. :hmm:

Only way he'd stay is if someone with big pockets would give the school a boatload of money. Power 5 schools, money isn't an issue. I just hope he doesn't take the Colorado job, that's not a good job at all.
Exactly. That Colorado job is asking to fail. If you are going to take a job going from SWAC, take a job but you could actually potentially succeed at. You can't succeed in Colorado

That last part. Future coaching opportunities would take a huge hit. People would walk away from Deion Sanders feeling at that job saying, I knew he couldn't do it. That's damn they're like taking the Cleveland Browns job and I'm a goddamn Brown's fan

So you don't have faith in Deion that he can resurrect Colorado?

The Browns got Deshaun Watson now they have the potential to be a great team and they got Nick Chubb and Amari Cooper too that's a good job for a coach.

I'm pretty amazed at how it seems like most people's opinions on what Deion should do seem to mainly be about money. I haven't looked into it but has Deion said it is a money thing for him? I caught that he said his staff was underpaid but I'm sure that was a known thing going in, also, I would assume their money needs would be different than his.

Honestly, I dislike seeing him potentially leave. I wouldn't say that he brought shine to HBCU programs but did bring cameras. HBCU programs have had amazing coaches and athletes. Again, I'm hoping this starts a trend of other athletic stars (regardless of race) who can coach and care for the students, working at HBCUs.

I agree. I would personally wait to see what else opens up even if it means another year or two at JSU. I understand why Colorado wants him but, I don't know if Prime is a good fit for Ralphie etc. That said, Jimbo Fisher was a perfect fit for A&M and we see how that turned out.

Wife and I took a ski trip out that way with friends a few years back. We did a day in Boulder on the way back from Aspen. Beautiful part of the country but nothing but LL Bean cacs and Subarus haha

Here’s the one thing that I will say, as much as I think the Colorado job is garbage, he kind of has no choice but to take it. Here’s my thought behind it: when you’re on top everyone loves you, you can do no wrong. What he’s done at JSU for three years is elevate them, but he’s more so elevated HIM. Right now, ‘Coach Prime’ is at its zenith as a brand, as a marketing and recruiting tool, and the results in the SWAC, not matter how good or bad, top to bottom the conference is or isn’t, is opening eyes. But, go 7-5 or 6-6 next season, all that shine is GONE. Recruits who would come play for you at 12-0 or 11-1 would rather go to 8 win high/mid D1 than play for your “averge” HBCU program, no matter who you are. And, because you’re ‘Coach Prime’, youre NEVER supposed to got 7-5 or 6-6 at JSU, because now all the people know with you is winning and double digit win seasons and that’s all they will accept. Stumble a year or two and them same folks who would have given their first born to you in 2022 will be saying how good you ARENT in 2024. Your ego, which everyone loved when you were winning, suddenly it’s a problem, your pedigree (well, he really AINT SWAC) is a problem……you can do no right, even if the temporary downfall is because 1/2 your team got hurt, “well, hes ‘Coach Prime’ he should be winning with the second and third stringers.”

Remember Bryce love? Was a running back for Stanford, Heisman finalist, was projected to be a first round draft pick after his junior year but decided to go back to Stanford? What happened? He got hurt missed a bunch of games, came time for the draft after his senior year NFL teams passed on him. He barely got a couple of pro workouts. They have gone through after Junior year, been absolute trash, but as a first round draft pick would’ve still been a millionaire. Millions of dollars lost because he wanted to go back to Stanford thinking he somehow was going to be MORE valuable than he was when the chance first came to cash out.

Is it a purely capitalist move? Sure! But that’s the business, cash out high, get the next big check. Deion did three years of good for JSU and Jackson, MS and is now doing what he never said that he wouldn’t do, which is look out for number one.

Yeah I'm kind of surprised he took this job, I believe if he waits another year or two there will be better jobs available. Or maybe he has a deal with Colorado that if something else opens up, he gone lol.
Read my post above this one, I was surprised too, but it makes sense to me.

I understand everything you typed…

My statement kinda was geared in a different direction…

theres been times, after reading certain post
I feel like some people want him to leave just to see him leave… or for him to fail
Just to be able to laugh
year 1, when they wasn’t so good… Folks had all kinds of jokes and laughed all year at the struggles. The team was the players he inherited, the following year those jokes disappear, when most of his players were able to play.

you see all kinda of things been said
“I want him to recruit at a big school against this coach and that one”
I’m like wat theee Fuck he did and still doing that now…

Bro look I deal with the other side, I’ve always did and will

but I don’t have any issue with seeing our people shine and be great.

Seem like that ain’t the case for some

Business wise
to me Coach Prime always been considered about the finances of his staff, so I understood that if the correct situation presents itself they jumping…..
when one understands that, it’s easy to know and understood they was there for a season(short time)

Coach prime offered so much to the swac and HBCU’s….
Just from the standpoint of making them understand the limitations of their thoughts.
One example, “he made a comment about these classics being played in current cities, and the schools arent handsomely compensated”

The HBCU board probably understands this but don’t have the voice to bring change or know the route to form a plan of action. I might be completely off by stating that, but I do know nothing at in motion because if it was Coach Prime addressing it would be pointless…
