Definition of "Catching The Vapors": Woman teased and called Michael B. Jordan "corny" in middle school, then has to interview him on the red carpet.

FACTS
social hierarchies are in every high school regardless of race and class...CAC neanderthal bitches are the worst in that regard...got these CACs boys turning into incels talking about how all the "Stacy's" only mess with "Chad's and "Tyrones" before they go shoot up a school because they cant get pussy out of their league.

these niggas bringing up black women outta nowhere like all black women are a monolith lol you can tell who never got any attention from sistas and were so damn weak they just ran into the arms of the cave bitches..ol Tommy Sotomayor, Dennis Rodman ass niggas.

as for the angry women dissing michael b jordan for his response..all he did was acknowledge ol girls comments, let her know he heard it and had the grace to grant her an interview...the real petty thing wouldve been just to play her out or give her real terse, short, sarcastic answers or not talk to her at all.

same bitches clowning him for holding a "grudge" probably post some shit on social media every other day talking bout "haters make me greater" etc.

The ones attempting to clown him in vain don't believe in accountability. All MBJ did was respectfully check her for what she said about him on her recent podcast after she had the gall to then abruptly ask him for an interview.

Rhetorically speaking, was he suppose to let that slide?

Disrespectful on her part, especially when her response was to LIE instead of a simple apology. No defense for that.

People about they business don’t fall over pussy like that. You don’t think he can easily get ass anytime he wants? It ain’t a big deal to him and those two you named ain’t anything special, one is fat as fuck now and the other is old enough to be his mom.

 :roflmao:  :roflmao:

I'm going to walk my stance back slightly. After hearing it instead of reading it, i don't think she's hating on his success vs her failure .

However, what she said can still be seen as cosigning the statement of him being corny regardless. Even her closing remark about him making it kind of implies she thought his behavior was corny or lame. Now had she defended him and said I knew him and he wasn't corny, that would have changed the tone of her comments. The statement could have gone something like " we would joke around about his name and he was always cool about it and joked back. He was always professional and kept his portfolio with him. Our school was in the hood but he didn't care about being seen as a model/actor. All of his hard work paid off." Now some may have still taken those comments as he was corny or lame compared to the general population at the school, but it comes off way more respectful.

The other key statement was their school was in the hood, so his behavior was seen as out of place in her mind.

I just saw the Breakfast Club discuss it. Envy gave his real opinion, but overall they went soft on her likely due to knowing her personally.

I don't have anybody on my shit list like that from high school. I confronted my high school bully 15 or so years ago. I drove and he was standing at a bus stop, I blew my horn and asked him if he needed a ride

Dude told me that he was married and his wife had a baby by some other dude while they were together. He moved out, left her the house and was trying to see the one kid he knew was his.

He was also working some shitty ass job.

All I said was, that's fucked up.

Dropped him off and kept it pushing. There was no reason to brag or rub it in. Life kicked him in the ass enough
Wouldn't have gave him no ride tho

Walking around with headshots is corny in Newark and Hollywood. Unless you were immediately taking them to an appointment or meeting!

A nigga in history class marveling over his headshots is corny

It's ok to call someone corny and it has nothing to do with them not being street\hood\thug.

Floyd Mayweather's corny and lame to me, T.I.'s showing himself to be corny and lame too.

It's not about being one of the cool kids or a thug and it's also ok to call some people corny because they are.

At the same token, people are free to be whomever they want to be and corny to me might not be corny to you etc...

Seeing a bully at a bus stop and picking him up is weird.

Usually people don't have that good of a relationship with their bullies but I'm glad you two were able to communicate in peace.

maybe he was just subliminally letting the bully know, he good and his bullshit didn't affect him at all.. .. in fact, he gave him a ride because he needed one being that he was at a bus stop. I'd gave him the ride also, just to remind him, his bullshit was bullshit and look at what i did for him. loll

Bullies and good kind people all can end up at bus stops because that's a part of life.

But I definitely can understand and respect where you're coming from.

With that said, I'm not giving someone that I don't rock with a ride.

Reminds me of this cat that always Fucked with me in High School in the 80s.

I got into a few tumbles with him, and lost a number of fights.

I was short/skinny in high school, similar to actor/comedian Kevin Hart. He was the same build.

I went into the ARMY and had a growth spurt.

I bumped into him in NYC back in 99. Dude was still “Kevin Hart” stature and I was like the Incredible Hulk standing above him. He didn’t recognize me at first and when I reminded him of back in the day….dude’s facial expression froze and locked up in fear.

It was pure comedy and I just laughed. We just then talked and got caught up on each others lives and I have stayed in contact with him off/on thru the years.

And plenty of females from school I have bumped into that wouldn’t give me the time of day in school, now all doing a complete 180 now as adults mainly because of the large number of failed relationships they been in for the past 30+ years.

You can’t hold that silly school shit against mofos as an adult. You gotta move on.

Wouldn't have gave him no ride tho
Maybe I did it to flex without flexing

Shit, to find out his wife had a baby by another dude and he has to pay child support for the bastard kid because she was married at the time of conception and they were living together

That's some knowledge I couldn't have gotten otherwise. It just gave me a sadistic little chuckle.

Crazy thing about high school comma some people as big as they are in high school is as big as their ever going to be in life

We were cool for most of our time in school, but we had a fight senior year. He wasn't a bully bully, but we did have a fight in May of senior year so one of the last times I saw him it was a fight and he whooped my ass

6'4" to my 5'9", long arms. I couldn't get any blows in. Afterwards I went to the military, got out and got my civilian job set up and he got fucked by life

In what world is keeping a headshot of yourself as a professional actor/model corny. That's called being prepared and professional. I would imagine your agent constantly has you showing up for various auditions random and scheduled. I know photographers and illustrators who kept a portfolio of their work on them before the digital age. I guess keeping a business card on you is corny too. Keeping your headshots on you in Hollywood would make even more sense given his career path.

The biggest part of being successful is the preparation that goes into your desired goal.

Now if he was randomly showing his headshots to impress people that's different. Not what she stated but ok.....

You can have your opinion of someone. Calling them corny is seen as disrespect regardless of where you are from. It's never been ok to call someone corny. If it were ok to call or imply someone is corny, why didn't she own it.

I never mentioned her believing he was corny because he wasn't street or cool. Her comments do imply that regardless of her definition of corny his behavior was not seen as acceptable do their peers in part to the norm in their school's neighborhood.

Same reason why Snipes said he don't date black women. He said they called him too dark and corny. Then he started making money and they mad he dating Asian women when they wouldn't give him the time of the day.

Walking around in high school in Newark, New Jersey carrying around headshots is kinda corny and a bit pretentious. Your opinion is that he's prepared while others will think he was doing too much.

That's the beauty of opinions, we all have one and are free to express it.

You're comparing your friends and pet that you k ow to a high schooler. Stick to the exact age and scenario that we're speaking about.

So you comparing business cards is invalid.

We're all free to feel how we feel about people and categorize them as we see fit. Is that fair? Not necessarily but it's life and that's what people do.

She didn't own calling him corny because to my knowledge she didn't actually call him corny.

All MBJ can do now is, invite her out to dinner, have a great dinner, take her to his hotel room, fuck her and cum on her face and pay for her uber back to her 2nd rate hotel. And the best part about it is, he's never going to say anything publicly but she knows and that's all that counts.

He won.

Smh My friends were in highschool as well as early college with portfolios and business cards. During their high school years, they attended a Performance Art school. Business cards are a method of preparation for unexpected encounters with people you want to give your contact information. Explain what is invalid? How are business cards not related to preparation for potential opportunities?

Clearly his doing too much lead to a successful career. Had she taken her rap career as serious it would probably exist. At 14/15 he had a role on the Wire. His acting career was already gaining momentum during the time he is being clowned. What is pretentious about that? That is being prepared for any opportunity that comes your way.

She didn't need to directly use the term corny. Given the nature of their talk and her description of his behavior it implies she was in agreement that he was corny. She said his headshots were stupid, said his behavior didn't fit their school and stated they teased him. Considering that you are in agreement that the headshots are corny, exactly what are you defending. You both share the same belief. As MJB was walking away from the interview, her statement were you're not corny anymore. If you aren't something anymore what were you previously? Your next retort is going to be she was being sarcastic. Meaning he is currently corny.

When did I say you could not give your opinion?

Nah man, bitches can be assholes throughout School

It's crazy when you're 13 14 15 16 they clown. When you're 17 and 18 you're corny, losing out to the R Kelly's of the world because they got money and a car and you don't

Those R Kelly years are ridiculous. I remember guys almost 30 years old picking up these girls from high school. Crazy nobody said anything either
i was just talking to someone about this same thing....ALL the bad girls was getting smashed by older nikkas....ALL of them

It's called sexual predators approaching pretty, inexperienced girls with grown bodies but immature minds. Tell your daughters how pretty, smart and special they are growing up so they aren’t easily impressed or swayed by others who are preying on young girls. The first time they hear this shouldn't be from someone intent on deceiving them, using them up and ruining their innocence.

I did my googles and found out that MBJ went to a "Arts" high school so I'll give him a pass on carrying around the headshots...

Sometimes!

Carrying them around everyday's weird but we'll just say that he was "Prepared".

You were supposed to provide the information about the arts high school to shut me up, not tell me about what your friends were doing and your experience.

I shouldn't have to do everything for you niggas!

All these niggas taking up for this bitch like she's 13 years old or some shit. That's a grown ass woman who made her opinion known and he acknowledged that he was aware of it. THAT'S IT. He didn't cuss her out. He didn't call her out of her name. He just let her know HE KNEW. So to see niggas deep in their fucking feels behind this let me know they all simping for this bitch. :dunno:

To be fair to the rest of the room, Joe kind of switched it up to say men shouldn't go at women and took it further by saying he wouldn't have an issue had it been a man. If I'm remembering correctly, he was getting push back and pivoted the argument. I think they were more so agreeing with that statement. MJB wasn't being disrespectful, so i still dont think it applies and Joe was reaching.

Initially, I think only Joe and M Ford took issue with what happened. Flip kept his overall opinion the same and followed up on his own channel. It really turned into Joe screaming and no one else really expanded on it much. Joe literally interpreted the discussion with his screaming. For Joe, it seems to be getting more and more about putting on a show ( content over everything) than having real discussions.
