Well its 2 fold, for one the Jamaican , ,ghanian etc still holds on to his cultural heritage out of pride in their history , its not a desire to separate themselves necessarily, 2ndly the average American wouldn't let them just b black bcos they hear that accent and they'll ask "I know ure black but where are you really from ? "

I don't agree with the original statement . But I do sense a resistance among many African Americans, particularly in the south to embrace other "Black" cultures.

\your civil rights movement aint have shit to do with what was going on in the caribbean & south/ latin america.... & just because we here & blend in exceptionally well.... dnt mean we supposed to rock out wit you.... most of dnt want & will not marry you or even date you because you aint US!...
