Well its 2 fold, for one the Jamaican , ,ghanian etc still holds on to his cultural heritage out of pride in their history , its not a desire to separate themselves necessarily, 2ndly the average American wouldn't let them just b black bcos they hear that accent and they'll ask "I know ure black but where are you really from ? I don't agree with the original statement . But I do sense a resistance among many African Americans, particularly in the south to embrace other "Black" cultures.
