Report: Murphy, Edmonds Split After Two Weeks

Eddie Murphy and Tracey Edmonds have decided to split two weeks after the couple symbolically tied the knot, TMZ.com reported.

Murphy and Edmonds, however, were never officially married.

The following statement was released to TMZ by Murphy's rep:

"After much consideration and discussion, we have jointly decided that we will forego having a legal ceremony as it is not necessary to define our relationship further."

"While the recent symbolic union in Bora Bora was representative of our deep love, friendship and respect that we have for one another on a spiritual level, we have decided to remain friends."

Murphy, 46, has five children from his marriage to Nicole Mitchell Murphy, who filed for divorce in 2005. He also has a daughter with Spice Girls singer Melanie Brown.

Edmonds, 40, has two sons from her 13-year marriage to singer Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds. As head of Edmonds Entertainment Group Inc., she has produced the film and television series "Soul Food."

Murphy's film credits include "Dreamgirls," and the "Beverly Hills Cop," "The Nutty Professor," "Shrek" and "Dr. Doolittle" movies.

Eddie usually choose more discreet women to mess around with too. Not semi-celebrity attention hounds.

I'm pretty sure Eddie caught her fucking around or something and that's why he was so hard on that paternity test. People never really got that he wasn't being a deadbeat, but that something went REALLY wrong in that relationship.
