Precisely that's why it's content to me to imagine he died...you don't just whack the head of NY and get away scott-free...Phil had family he had people that are going to be diehard loyal to him that would not let that slide and not to mention the guy who is positioning himself to be the new head...Tony is done one way or another...

Yeah exactly, either way it's over for Tony. :(

And, to be brutally honest, it's also over for the Sopranos crime family, I mean who is there that's capable of stepping up to be boss? ...The only 2 that're worth mentioning are: Paulie Walnuts (who doesn't have the intelligence, and is probly about to get wacked) and Patsy (who'd be likely to just align himself with NY after the killings, with questionable loyalty to Jersey after Tony killed his twin brother).

I'm surprised Tony went out to eat publicly immediately after war. Maybe he met family there because he thought he wouldn't be murdered infront of them. Evidently not!

But the one thing that I still don't get is: why the fuck don't these guys wear vests when they know they're targets? Sil & Bobby could have survived, or had a good chance. I guess vests aren't a part of Italian gang culture, but damn, I value my life more. :smh:

FROM ANOTHER WEBSITE. INTERESTING...

Motive: Butch is likely to be new boss of NY, and remember how he gave up Phil in a heartbeat so he could rise to the top... you really think he's gonna forgive Tony for sticking a revolver in his face: "how about I put a bullet in your fuckin head?!". Plus it'd be a huge liability to leave Tony alive when he knows about Butch's disloyalty, if New York found out it could cost Butch his life. So Butch allows Tony to kill Phil and then takes out Tony in what looks like retribution, so he comes out as the Boss of New York, smelling of roses with no loose ends. (I believe Paulie is the other loose end, which'd make his death is imminent, just like he fears. IMO the cat represents/brings death, obsessively purring at the photo of a "dead kid", Chrissy. It almost supernaturally appears outside Satriale's at the end of a conversation where Paulie states his reluctance to take on a cursed position which has gotten everyone else killed).

But hey, if Tony didn't die he's fucked anyway. He was told by his lawyer that he has a 80%-90% chance of being indicted. And they don't even know about all the snitching we've seen over the years.

Longest post I have ever/ will ever type. Oh, 'Don't Stop Believing', right?!

Chase said Butchie did what he did because Phil wasn't running the family with his head but rather with his heart. NY isn't only running against the Sopranos, they have the 4 families in New York. If Phil is acting in such a way with "a glorified family" from NJ what would he do with the major players in New York? Chase didn't really spell it out though.

True but like homie said, Tony still knows Butchie looked the other way and usurped Phil's power while a price was still on his head. And there is the perception that the Brooklyn mobsters got took out by a glorified "crew", an off-brand Jersey family, which looks bad as well for a family dealing with the other New York families.

I agree--Butchie probably clipped Tony and Paulie (the betrayer) and Patsy Parisi is running the family. Which works out because he gains legitimacy from being Meadow's father-in-law. The question is, can he recruit solid younger talent to rebuild the family or do they stay a glorified crew, and does weak-ass Anthony Jr. get angry and mob up, or does he go that Hollywood route like Lil Carmine and Christopher did?

Maybe Silvio gets out of his coma and becomes Patsy's consigliere like he was for Tone?
