David Beckham In Car Crash In Los Angeles
TORRANCE, Calif. -- Authorities say David Beckham was behind the wheel of a car that rear-ended another vehicle on a Southern California freeway.

The California Highway Patrol said Saturday the soccer great was not hurt in Friday morning's crash, but the other car's driver was hospitalized after complaining of neck pain.

The patrol says Beckham's Cadillac struck a Mitsubishi stalled in the carpool lane of the 405 Freeway in Torrance.

The other driver, a 40-year-old Los Angeles man, was taken to a hospital as a precautionary measure. His name was not released.

Beckham was not cited.

The 35-year-old Beckham joined Major League Soccer club Los Angeles Galaxy in 2007. Before that, he played in Europe for Manchester United and Real Madrid and was captain of England's national team from 2000 to 2006.

I don't follow soccer so all I really remembered was hearing that he signed a 200+ million dollar contract with the Galaxy, on those terms he hasn't lived up to it, then I heard the REAL DEAL, that it was just his own media spin and he's only getting 6~7 mil a year but with his name and face recognition I guess he's actually outperformed his contract based on selling out luxury boxes alone, lol!!!

I also remember however that he's missed major time on the field, has he played in even 1 complete season yet?

He's one of the world's most recognized faces, YOU may not know him because he plays soccer but he attracts fans, back in 2004 he ranked in the top 10 on Forbes highest paid athlete list.

I'll admit though that the only reason I knew him was because back when he signed with the LA Galaxy he had a HUGE poster for an ad campaign in Times Square.

Yes he has. This is his 2nd full stint I believe. He actually had a game to remember last night between the New York ShitBulls. (Actually RedBulls... sorry, it's the DC United fan in me )

Anywho, his first year in MLS, he was desperately seeking recognition from Fabio Capello to be put onto the England squad for last year's World Cup. Unfortunately a knee injury did him in and he was out for a good minute. But he's since recovered, and does quite well in central midfield for Los Angeles.

As I posted before, he's not in America to resurrect football and change people. That's pretty much the biggest misconception about him. He does bring alot of exposure to the MLS, and it's great for the game here, but by no means is he the man to "change American sports." Not by a long shot.

He's simply here because his wife is Posh as fuck, no pun intended, and probably more than anything, he loves that American lifestyle.

I think one of his son's is named Brooklyn.
