A couple said yes, way more said no, and most ignored.
While Donald Trump maintained that the novel coronavirus pandemic is not as dire as scientific experts have repeatedly warned, it appears his administration was launching a plan to have celebrities quash public concern, thereby boosting the president's image.
The problem? Few wanted any part.
According to House Oversight Committee documents obtained by Politico in an article published Thursday, Trump's administration was concocting an enormous taxpayer-funded ad campaign allegedly to educate, but in actuality to improve the optics of the president's fumbling of the situation.
Led by Health and Human Services spokesman Michael Caputo, the actual theme of the campaign was "Helping the President Will Help the Country," Politico reports. And that message was going to be delivered via beloved and trusted celebrities. Lists totaling 274 stars and musicians were compiled. The result: A couple said yes, way more said no, and mostly, there was no response.
According to documents obtained by Politico, 22 stars said no, including Selena Gomez, Dwayne Johnson, Trevor Noah, Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Britney Spears, Christina Applegate, Mark Wahlberg, Kate Hudson, Viola Davis and Zoe Saldana.
Two said yes: Marc Anthony and Dennis Quaid.
Perhaps most noteworthy were the "Additional Notes" on those who did not reply. Judd Apatow's entry read: "Believes Trump does not have the intellectual capacity to run as President, want him to be removed out of office in 2020."
Upon seeing the story, Apatow responded, "I have yet to be proven wrong on that."

Good luck to her

you will see in 2024 when he gets relected.

Biden won't get re-elected and his BS policies have made sure that Harris will not be elected.

They did a hit job on Cuomo so unless Chump gets convicted before 2024 he might just move back into the WH....

Exactly but the old bought and paid for don't want to give up their meal tickets....

We lost our chance when Barack stalled out Ellison's attempt to take over the DNC and change it's direction......Obama's hand-picked replacement has been on the same old same old since taking over

To get an honest writing on Trump, it will come from foreign sources that can't be bought by Trump money. Which he will try have banned from US shores. Especially if published before the next election day.

Florida Judge Throws Out Gov. Ron DeSantis Order Prohibiting Masks In Schools
August 27, 202112:40 PM ET

A Florida judge has ruled school districts in the state can require students to wear masks. At least ten school districts — including those in many of the largest cities — had been defying state rules banning masks ordered by Governor Ron DeSantis.

Judge John Cooper ruled on a lawsuit brought by parents who say Governor DeSantis overstepped his authority when his administration said school districts couldn't order students to wear masks. DeSantis had warned "there will be consequences" for districts that defied the ban.

In court this week, lawyers for the parents say DeSantis's order violates a constitutional requirement that districts operate schools that are safe and secure. The state maintains parents have the ultimate authority to decide what's best for their kids. The judge's ruling allows school districts to require masks.

Noting that the coronavirus — and particularly the Delta variant — is highly contagious and sometimes fatal to children, Cooper urged people to take a step back, "We will not solve any issue if we can't sit down and work together and take positions recognizing what's going on is not some recent imposition or some attack on the country."

The coronavirus and the Delta variant have ripped across Florida in recent months (an elementary school in Vero Beach shut down on Friday until after Labor Day). More people have been infected and hospitalized of COVID than at any point during the pandemic. The number of deaths, about 242 a day, is also near a record level.
