Live on Lennox is a slept on album from 99/2000
I don't know why as a a East coaster I appreciated the bay rappers so much
I think the source and Video Music Box showing love really helped that
I thought Dru Down Suga Free and dem were incredible
Yeah man, that BASS, the game spitting, and smooth, playa shit was what resonated with me.
Plus up in western canada at the time It was easier to get the "Rap pages" magazine than the source and they profiled a bit more west coast artists than East Coast
i dont think i ever saw a female in a onyx , m.o.p or das efx video, niggaz did videos literally in the sewerMaybe cause they were the first rappers with hoes in the video? Talking that pimp shit.
NYC rappers were running around in army pants scaring the camera man.
Lmaoi dont think i ever saw a female in a onyx , m.o.p or das efx video, niggaz did videos literally in the sewer
E-40 and Spice 1 collabs always went hard!

I think the biggest take away I got from 40 was I remember being a child and seeing him on TV and shit. I remember "Sprinkle Me"back in the 90's...and its 2020 and he still making music and making hits. Hate him or love him...he and Short Dogg have stood the test of time far better than other guys who y'all flock to.
I loved that Bay Area sound man. In the scheme of things it never really got its credit like LA/Compton/Long Beach did.
Hold on......Too Short put on Lil Jon?I don't remember that. I thought it was the other way around.Too short moved to ATL before it got popular
he put lil jon on nationally
had songs with biggie and tupac
and if you need 16 from him now he can provide it on whatever you need.
"Blow Your Whistle" is one of Too Short's biggest hits. It won't ever get it lol
Everyone borrows from the bay.
Drake
the L.A. sound right now is just ant banks.
for the most part all of DJ mustard is updated rick rock
it is what it is.

Yeah and that's all I'm saying. I Think they just need one to come trough there. One of these young guys that's marketable. A little shocked it hasn't happened lately since it seems like anyone is getting a chance to shine. I never thought a rapper like Lil Baby would be one of the biggest artists in the game........in the 90's he's everything a label wouldn't want.
From Sac to the Bay all day..
Well you said he put Jon on and I disagree. Blow Your Whistle came out years after Yeah. Dave Chappell and Usher can make that claim. I don’t know about Short Dogg but shit you can give him credit for Based God.Come on now the other way around with too short?
Too short had 6 platinum albums before you even heard an underground song from lil Jon and the Eastside boys lmaooo
As far as the lack of national is because they truly don't care about going National.
Not at all

Too short brought Lil John to the Universal and they called him wack and passed on him. Short did several songs with him and Labels heard what he could do and started fighting over him. Too short was like damn I introduced Lil John and these labels didn’t give me any respect for the intro. Short is responsible for how big he got.Well you said he put Jon on and I disagree. So you think he's responsible for Lil Jon going nationwide because of Too Short took him to Universal? Jon had some earlier work with Too Short for sure. Chase The Cat or one of them albums. He came through for him but he didn't make him nationwide. Lil Jon didn't do that until "Yeah" and them Chappelle skits.Too short brought Lil John to the Universal and they called him wack and passed on him. Man I been on Lil Jon long before Short came around. We been rocking with Lil Jon back in his So So Def Days...hell I have anyway I can't speak for anyone. Who you think was responsible for them So So Def Bass All Star albums in the 90's? Jermaine Dupri? Why are you talking about blow your whistle? Lmao
Let my nuts go and bia bia were out before yeah
Actually years before yeah
Which is how lil Jon even got to do a song with usher in the first place
You from the south you should know these things
