Kids don't know any better so there's no shame in it. That said, my favorites were Yokozuna, Ahmed Johnson, and Shawn Michaels. Hogan just seemed corny. And he was already washed up by the time I started watching wrestling.
Correct. I had no shame posting. I can separate the character he played from the man he was. Nonetheless, I have too many favorites to name. Shit like this reminds me how much of a fan I was back in the day.

I'm not "piling on" because it's trendy, but I always despised this guy......

Let's travel in the time machine together to: 1984 Dayton, Oh

In the 80's WWF in the mid-west was "everything". In Dayton, we had the Hara Arena, and it was one of the regular locations for their broadcasted shows. I lived in the Northridge area of Dayton, and there was a local gym owned by Larry Pacifico that ALL of the wrestlers would frequent.

When going to the local grocery store, we'd always pass his gym and would always see WWF wrestlers lifting. They were ALWAYS cool and ALWAYS allowed us kids in to watch them lift. One day Hogan was in the gym (and of course) we go CRAZY. Larry knew us as the "regular" neighborhood kids, so he always welcomed us in. Soon as we came in, Hogan's face got serious, and he yelled: Somebody get these fuckin kids outta here! It did not register to us at 1st because (as a kid) Hulk could do no wrong. Larry Pacifico comes out of his office and points to Hogan and says "Don't talk to my kids like that" and Hogan did not give him any lip, cause Larry Pacifico was one of the world's strongest men at the time, and working out with him was a privilege. Hogan just put his head down and under his breath said "Fuck it". Big John Stud (pause) and The Iron Sheik were there and greeted us. They we're the heels (bad guys) at the time and were talking to us as if they wanted to turn us against Hogan (staying in character). That's when Sheik said "That guy over there is a piece of shit, in the ring and in life....don't be like that fucking racist!". We looked over at Big John Stud (pause) who's face was like:

Larry pulled Hogan to the back and Sheik and stud showed us how to properly lift for a few minutes before we left on our own accord to go to the store. On our way back home. Larry stopped us and told us that Hulk might not be back for a while, and that we were always were always welcome to visit his gym. When I got older, I discovered that was one of the working deals that he had with Vince McMahon (That his local kids come into his gym to see the wrestlers, as long as they did not get in the way).

From that day forward, I loved to see Hogan get his ass whooped..... (In real life or the ring).

This was actually one of my favorite moments ever:

Between Hulk Hogan and Mel Gibson~~ too bad they never had a "Who's the most racist? Celebrity DEATH MATCH!!"
Damn I miss Celebrity Death Match. That is exactly the kind of story they would have went with to set that match up. If they even tried a show like that these days, Agent Orange would sue the network.

Modern TV shows are a bunch a pussies.

So you liked Shawn Michaels over Bret Hart? We must fight now....lol. Kidding, i've come around HBK and appreciate him turning his life around.

Not going to lie being aware of how he went above and beyond for Make a Wish and other things of that nature is why I give a little more leeway than most especially in this thread when considering he is.

He definitely doesn't get a pass for the racist and other fuck shit though.
Unfortunately hulk Hogan was known to be a human who only told a lie of his mouth was moving lmao the guy literally lied about make a wish kids in the past lmao

I remember when I first saw Hulk Hogan when I was very little back in 1983/1984 coming to Andre the Giants(racist) rescue. We then watched Creature Double Feature, Godzilla vs Mothra.

But Hogan was friends with Mr. T and I thought Hogan was really cool. I could never thought he had racism in him cause he was imitating a black man.

But I later shifted towards the Ultimate Warrior cause he was more cooler to me. The Warrior with his music stormed in the ring and did damage to all his opponents.

But later as you get older you see how your childhood heroes are racist dirtbags. Both Hogan and Warrior(Jim Hellwig) are racist scum.

Most of us, when we were kids, looked up to Hulk Hogan as a real American hero. When you heard that song Real American and saw him running to the ring, a feeling of joy overcame us as children. But now, most people in our age group would not admit that the conditioning they received at such a young age has had a lasting impact.
