After Sunday Night Football graced a National football audience with an 'ugly' display of NFL football, at its worst,"Thanks" to QB Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys.
His approach seems to be 'don't make any mistakes or take any chances'; use your running game. Gone is the 'cavalier' young QB, that brought a degree of excitement and threat to his position and game. Now, he's predictable and somewhat boring. Very boring.
It was thought--or hoped--that with the departure of T.O., Romo's stature and efficiency would soar. It hasn't. In fact, the team was better during T.O's presence. Well, not that much better.
It lacks a so-called "go-to" guy. WR Roy Williams played better when he was in Detroit. Last season he had an excuse, i.e., came to Dallas late in the season and did not have time to work with Romo. Can't use that excuse this season. How about WR Drayton or WR Hoard?
Romo gets most of the blame because he's a highly paid QB., but his 'supporting' cast includes more than half of the team....except the running backs. The offensive coordinator and head coach seem lost.
But Romo's Jerry's boy---as is the OC---and that's all that matters.
Anybody see any 'highlights' I overlooked? Former Dallas Cowboy running great Tony Dorsett was right about Romo being 'crown' as a 'great' QB without ever having won a playoff game or did anything great.
