Daily Reminder

Last 2 weeks
save for maybe a apple orange or some cashews almonds or peanuts during the day 1 meal a day !!!

Its a radical step but discipline in one area of life carries over into the others. Translation, Less junk food fast food habitual eating = more cash in the bank at the end of the week !

1 goal at a time on my road to the riches !

This all fruit diet has been known to work...I've seen it. But I'm not sure how it is on a long term basis. You can fast a couple of days out of the week but there are more than enough healthy, cheaper alternatives to keep you below budget and on weight.

Congrats on having that will power though!:)

Black men over 35 go get your heart checked out a lot of black men 35 and up are dieing from heart attack and other complications due to bad blood flow to the heart.you could have a heart problem and not even know it until its to late.

I was 40 years old and thought everything was fine as far as my health was concerned.one day I had to give a speech in front of my co workers, and I felt a pain in the middle of my chest.I keep coughing and having chest pains.I thought I was having a acid reflex moment so to make a long story short.

three days later I went to the doctor to see if I could get something for acid reflex he prescribe me some medication and I was on my way, but I still was having chest pains so I went back to the doctor with the same problem and he says lets check your heart because acid reflex and heart disease symptoms are almost alike.

well they checked my heart and I had over 92% blockage on the left side of my heart he told me I had what its called the widow maker. my first heart attack would have been my last.even if I was standing in front of the hospital.

well I had to have quadruple bypass at 40 years and still trying to stay healthy at 45.

so go get your heart checked don't wait until its to late.

Well I am glad that you got that taken care of. Pops has had hypertension, high blood pressure, and blood clots and docs just found his blockage this week. Only you know your body so there are times where you definitely have to tell the doctor what is wrong and what to check for. Let this be a lesson!

Why don't you take your favorite recipes, and substitute ingredients to make it more health conscious? A lot of times mayo can be changed for low fat plain yogurt; your regular mayo can be substituted for the olive oil version; bleached flour for wheat flour; even change out meat for tofu (which is great btw).

Stay motivated!

This is one of my favorite dishes since starting this diet. Not exactly the one eat, (mines doesn't have brown sugar), but you get the idea. My parents are trying to look for healthy alternatives to old junk food habits but really, putting something completely new in your diet, (like the miso would be something new for most of us), helps to keep it fresh and helps to keep you interested in sticking with it. I mean what good is a diet if you eat 'healthier' versions of what you did before?

Feel the burn! Have you been motivated today!

Walked three flights today three times. Doesn't take much to move in the right direction!

Be healthy!

If you want to eat out, (and I use that term loosely - I'm not talking about some wholesome restaurant), there is no harm in asking what is in your food. The more you know the more conscious you can be about the food in your body.

Excellent Post Melonpecans. Hope your Pops is recovering. You dropping gems in here. To the dude with the foot pain that RSD is the real deal. If the pain persists ask your doc to refer you to a pain specialist. If it really is RSD they can block the nerves and turn the overstimulation of the nerves off over time.

On the topic of diet and health, I work out 3-4 times a week and usually just maintain. 6'2"/230ish. I always ate what I wanted but my weight and body fat has creeped up over the past 5 years. Its diet. If you change what you eat (and in my case drink liberally... the name don't lie) you will see results. I was 238 in January and I am 216 now. I haven't been in this kinda shape since 2005.

I did a slow carb diet that I read about in the 4 hour body. Body fat dipped seriously even without working out. I usually take january off from my gym and hit it again in february. Diet and portion control is the truth. But a healthy sustainable diet is the key.

I've been busting my ass to get into shape.. and my wife came home a tossed a big bag of Starburst Jelly Beans on my desk .. Like that was a good thing..

I started tearing thru them shits.. and even tho i had to step away from them.. cause i get scared i'm gonna kill myself.. I read this thread and jumped up and threw them shits in the trash..
and i'll be cussing my wife out when she gets home.

Thank you!
He's doing fine but having trouble with what I bolded. He want's what he used to eat but is having trouble with his new diet, though he knows it will help.

Moms got a box of recipe cards and they went out and bought all the ingredients for those DINNERS. So now he's complaining there is nothing for him to eat for lunch or breakfast...which brings me to this -

Glad you threw them out, although I see nothing wrong with SOME candy. Get your wife on board! Be each others motivation! I've been telling the same thing to moms about Daddy. I think she's on board but her approach is wrong. To the diet and to how they eat. Perhaps your wife as he same problem?

And don't try to kill yourself please!

Been on it.

Keep up the good work!

Considering everything that is going on in the Pacific I hope that today's reminder is to be greatfull for everything that you have and that our family and friends there are safe. My prayers are with everyone!

Here's your reminder :

Reading is fundamental?

Yes! It is!

For those foods that you just want though you know you might not need it, this is key. Probably the biggest reminder I have to point out to Daddy in his journey. If you can grasp this, (and you know how if you are conscious), then the sky is the limit!

Thanks for the reminder. I've been slacking heavily for like 2 years now. I need to get back on my grind in a serious way. Maybe I will slowly go about it this time. Everyone's talking about this being a lifestyle change too.

You can start slow as long as you START. We all have to have that point. I believe you can do it. :D

Hey I'm sorry to hear that, I'm wishing you both all the best.

Thanks Mo. I'm hoping this time around he does better with his health and diet. We all need to.

I'd like to take this moment to to send condolences to the friends and family of Nathaniel Hale. We as a community first and a society need to do better, one step at a time, whatever it is to make changes. There should have been no reason for six children to loose their father at the age of 41.

Let this be your reminder.

You wrong for that.

Work and school was starting to pick up...hopefully I can carve some time out for me.

I guess that might be one of the biggest daily reminders...learn to have time for YOU. Struggling process.

Been trying to conquer three flights of stairs in the off time. What have you all done lately?

Don't fast too much or too hard, it can mess with your body in the wrong way. I know people who have to play around with their days, (once a week, two times a week), so that they don't feel sickly or too hungry cause you're putting your body into starvation mode. Pick up an apple on those days, it helps. My grandmother I know won't eat anything every Friday save for her fish dinner, (Religious reasons), but it works for her.

Good luck on your journey!

I want this to be a reminder for you all to take care of your bodies. Walk for fifteen minutes, pick up a piece of fruit. Start some exercise or just slowly cut out processed foods.

Your body and your family will thank you if you do.

You know the cost of fruits? In my region, it's mandarin orange season (don't ask) and I'm salivating.

Had to cop some peanuts because they'll last. :smh:
But here's to tossing off another high protein spooge. :jackoff:
