I saw it yesterday. It's definitely an action flick. The tried to change up the Rock's F&F character, make him a bit more human instead of a hothead. Idris is that dude! I want his bike.

I like my action like mission impossible, bond, wick, the raid, etc
Fast and furious just comes off as corny to me.

FF lack of long dialogue and super cartoonish stunts and violence make it much more inclusive and translatable around the globe.

All these action movies are becoming stale. Typical action sequences super predictable plot lines. Corny frenemy buddy dialogue and the female lead sexual innuendos sprinkled in for good measure.
You may like it more than I did but I just wasn't feeling it. Just like his other movie with Brad Pitt "Inglorious Basterds" started off strong but ended up falling flat. Those to me are two of QT's worst films. Some good acting wasted on a paper thin script, I think the movie overall was just about capturing "The Scene" or reliving Hollywood circa 1969.

I liked Basterds cause that nazi restaurant scene, and the "anne frank" scene were cinematic masterpieces
You cant just dump the movie when THOSE type of scenes exist

Well that's when the movie died for me, everybody got wacked before you got to know who they were, Shoshana's story just bored me.

Agreed loved Jackie Brown. I hated it when it first dropped then I gave it another shot on dvd years later and fell in love with it. I guess my more mature sensibilities kicked in, it definitely was a "grown folks" movie.

I think Jon is right too much can be too much.
I mean there was so much action in it but it was formulaic. Shit was like a live action cartoon.
That’s not to say this is the worst movie but it’s played out and tiring.
I wasn’t rushing to give it a try but I knew I’d eventually get around to it. But I’m sure it’ll do well enough to warrant a part two and round out the cast with bigger names.
You have terrible taste in movies if you think Hobbs and Shaw was better than Once Upon a Time or anywhere close
and do some research about Once Upon A Time in Hollywood...it had a point...you just missed it
and most movies are pointless...unless you count finding something that can poison people a point.
