Da Brat won't be So So Def for the next three years. The rapper was sentenced to three years in prison today for the assault that took place at a Halloween party last October. Da Brat got into a fight with a waitress at Studio 72 and Da Brat hit the woman in the head with a rum bottle and she was later hospitalized and now has permanent facial scars.

The local paper, The Atlanta Journal-Constituion, is reporting that a judge in Dekalb County sentenced Da Brat to three years in prison plus seven years of probation and 200 hours of community service. As she was removed from court, Da Brat said to her family and friends “I love y’all,” to which they replied “We love you too.”

And yet Jay-Z (stabbing), Diddy (numerous assaults), and Snoop Dogg (murder) walk free. The gentlemen "thugs" seem to have better lawyers.

They didn't do that shit in Georgia. They are more tolerant outside of the south or harsher in south, which ever you choose to look at it. Mystical is doing time in Louisiana for rape right?

Let me get this straight...

Heterosexual males, particularily thugs, reserve the right, to bust liquor bottles over a females head and get off scott free...!?:dunno:

hahaha

i'm glad someone pointed this out

i guess she doesn't have a good enough lawyer...also, the courts like to make examples out of women who step outside of their "womanly" demeanor or commit crimes typically done by men

How about the courts making examples of celebs that fuck up!

I think, eyebrows are raised only, when a case where sentencing results, involving a celebrity, where they actually sentence and serve time. Otherwise, ordinary citizens are sentenced according to the law and serve time within the justice system, normally...

are you saying that they do or that they should?

I'm saying if they do it, good, if they don't, they should do it and they should do more of it! There is no need to parse my posts. They are self explanatory. Thuggish and anti social behavior is not sexy. It is harming the Black community especially.

The inequities of the courts are legendary.

That is a statement, but it doesn't summerize what I stated.

I am saying, it does not matter to the masses, when an ordinary person is sentenced, justifiably, but, when a star is it's big news because they will serve time, people are outraged and want to do something about it, because all of a sudden it matters. The public thinks about how, they will miss their favorite movie star or rapper. How this will effect outings like concerts, how this star will not be able to release their next hit, movie, etc you get the point. It's ridiculous to pitty these people really, just because they are stars...
