I never understood why they took cursive out of some public schools but left it in place for others.

Majority of official documents must be signed in cursive and print.

Sad part of not teaching cursive is kids who haven't learned can't even read cursive.

I do - I'm either all caps or cursive... I prefer cursive for the aesthetics

General penmanship needs to be forcefully taught, ham fisted hand writing these days looks like another language.
