The fact that they dont put butter or eggs in the refrigerator is amazing to me, in the US they make it seem we will die of salmonella instantly if either sits out too long ir gets to romm temperature

In the UK they don't wash the protective membrane/ coating off their eggs. Also UK chickens have been vaccinated against Salmonella since the 90's, theres no such vax program in the US, so their eggs can sit out longer vs in the US
