craigslist vs. Ebay vs. ?

I wanted to sell my old Ipod and wanted to know from the fam what they recommend to sell your old junk like Ipods, mp3 players, CDs, DVDs, etc.?

The thing about craigslist is that you gotta meet the buyer in person usually.

And with Ebay after the fees, you could end up with much lower then you expected.

thanks

Afternoon, dude. In my opinion, eBay has gone the way of professionals. It is hard to buy a good deal or sell a good deal when you look @ the possible fees you have to come off of. Now, that is just my opinion.

Now, I am on craigslist much more often, go on about everyday and think that it is a great community for selling. It's FREE. You can really browse and see what people are looking for. If your pics are tight, you may not have to meet the purchaser in person, you still may be able to ship but either way, I feel the buyers are more motivated and you can really hone in on a city and neighborhoods inside of a city to get the sale.

I have not sold tangible objects yet on craigslist. I use it more for posting financial services situations and affiliate marketing prospects.

That's my wooden nickel.

thanks alot bro.

I'll try the craigslist and see if I can do the shipping thing and use paypal or something.

its funny, you would think you could have a store or site the trades all this stuff like old cell phones, old mp3 players, etc.

Craigslist is the way to go.

Ebay has gotten to greedy. Listing+Final Fee+Paypal fees. to many fees

Craigslist is Free. If you want to ship make sure you have a merchant account like Paypal, or Google.com Checkout. because 95% will not trust you to send a money order/check.

Not to mention the Nigerian 419 Scams

c/s... just be careful... make the transaction at a police station:lol::D

promote your ebay auction link on craigslist....just use the BIN price, and say its for auction too.... best of both worlds; extra promo thru craigslist, and use and security of paypal.

Depends on what you're selling and the condition it is in etc. I sold some old furniture on CL no problem since it was way underpriced. Tried to sell a brand new camera cheaper than ebay's best price and all I got were stupid scumbags who thought I didnt mean the firm price I set and would drop the price to a stupid low amount :hmm: Ended up givin that shit as a gift to someone.
Ebay is cool - it is what it is.
Amazon is alright but that thing has me a little heated- I set a lower price for something and soon every other merchant on there gets into a one cent cheaper bidding war.
Im trying to sell a bunch of textbooks now and will probably just do it on Ebay. Amazon isnt worth it. I saw a $100 book shot down to $.01 in a bidding war between 30-50 merchants :hmm:
