Look, I never sold drugs, but I know plenty that have, and do. Do not buy into the hype okay. This professor has probably never lived a day in Detroit, or any other city populated by low income people. His thesis is based upon the lives of others, and the media. So, he doesn't know what the fuck he is talking about. I know cat's that have, and are hustling on them blocks making far more than this thread may suggest. Kingpins make the most money, of course. But If you really think that in your high infested cities that have been over run by drugs, and crime, have people who deal drugs making $3.50 an hour, my friend, you need to step outside your sheltered world. Where I'm from, these niggahs may be petty hustling, but they damn sure are pulling in more than $3.50 an hour.

Come on now.....

;)

u aren't listening. once you factor in jail time and long prison bids, etc. that ten thou per month u makin ain't sheit over a 10 year period. if u divide all that cake u saved and divide it by the number of years u were 'away,' then u could realistically be lookin at a less than minimum wage figure overall. u ain't makin cheese in prison, playa

I think a lot of the dudes int his post trying to proclaim that street level dealers (or the majority) of workers are getting paid are ignoring reality or don't know what making real money is. You have an entire block where all the dudes that live there and you're talking 10-12 are working the same corner and getting their supply from the same person. then they have to have bail money-no health plan-no perks whatsoever. You can be in any hood or ghetto and see that. plus the hours are long and there is no vacation or calling out in bad weather.

as a note my sister had to read it in economics and i got freakonomics from her it was interesting to say the least. I'd like to make young dudes read it at the very least to get them to read something and talk intelligently.
