Sorry dude the first one is a 12cent original
Yours is a the 40cent cover reprint!!!
Marvel did that quite a bit during that era of comics. When they needed a filler story line that would just reprint an older story of that comic.
Some where on the inside front page it would say (original presented in: i.e. Avenger issues 16) or it should also say it in the publisher print at the bottom of the first page

;)

I did not have the heart to break homie's soul over it.

I use to sell comics on the streets of Fordham road...I have many stories of dudes bringing me books like this only for me to tell them it's worth...nothing.

Some dudes would try to play it off but their voice would crack, some would do limb....other cats downright cried.

I would think reprints would be worth something due to the age of the copy, but I understand why it's like that. When I was younger, I used to think I'll become a millionaire someday collecting comic books. Now I understand the game of it all. If I don't have the ORIGINAL copy, it's not worth it. Not to mention, only 6% of comic books are actually worth big money.

Actually, comic book back issue are not worth much if anything at all.

Ever since Marvel left the comic code back issues have been at a decline.

The collector's market is dead (it may come back?) so the only people buying are readers. Readers only want to read what's part of their story arcs.

The hardcore collectors are aging so very soon (next 5 to 10 years) back issues will take another hard drop.

The best way to make money on comics is with recent books - But you have to sell them fast and before the TPB comes out.

My personal thing is that I make sure that the comics pay for themselves. Either I sell the books for cover (or more) and get the TPB or I donate them and get it back in tax time.

I know.

I was just happy to have an old school comic book in fairly decent shape. Like I was saying, only 6% of comic books are actually worth good money. I might be overestimating that percentage.

Cool site.
To me Comic Book Covers are works of art. I remember I had my favorite comics covering my bed room walls.

I would staple the fold over top of the plastic protective cover. Then if I wanted to read or copy a page out of the book I would just flip it upside down and the comic would slide right out.

I think i'm going to do my computer room with some I found on the site.

I remember grabbing every #1 issue that came out in the 90's , especially from Image, and now they are worth maybe $2.00 each.

Actually they are worth .25 cent each.

The recent con I was at this past week had complete runs of Image books from the 90's in a 4 for $1.00 box.

There is another con coming up in Brooklyn doing the same thing

6 for $1.00 and 4 for $1.00 boxes all day long.

Yeah i figured that was going to happen. The way the comic industry started to cater to collectors as apposed to fans.

It peaked at the Death of Superman.
I literally could not even get into my local comic shop, there were so many random people trying to get a copy.

I was just there to get my weekly fix.

i once owned the following issues and had to sell them to pay off an IRS DEBT. :(

I hear you. I kept a few. Gave them to my kids. My kids like some of the Milestone books, Impact books and 80's Teen Titans. Floppies are gone from my home though.
