This piggybacking from another thread on the main board. This is my view on what "Protection" is. Feel free to disagree.
While we were on the topic of fighting over or "for" a female I was thinking:
Damned if you do, damned if you don't in this day in age.
If you do get involved, you might get your life ended.
IF you don't, the woman(depending on the woman) will probably think of you as "weak".
The reason why I say it depends on the female is because there are some that will actually hold YOU back and say it is not worth it.
This is the female you keep because she looks at the bigger picture.
Females with a false sense of what "Protection" is and what it really means to "Stand up and be a man" will think that you're a punk because she didn't see the bigger picture and the bigger picture is simple. It's not that serious. Females that don't realize that are the main females that get dudes killed. Period.
See what some women don't realize is that as a man, we are constantly battling for respect from women and men. Dudes will try and "test your gangsta" just as a female would. No dude wants to be looked at like a "bitch" or a "pussy" so of course he's going to have a "nigga moment" if his girl wants him to "check the dude" but at the end of the day, there really is no reason to always try and check another dude. I'm not saying that men should just let other dudes constantly disrespect their girl all the time but having a "backbone" does not mean that you get into a confrontation all the time.
It is possible to be protective without having a "nigga moment" every time your female feels disrespected. If I am with a woman that considers protection to be "fighting every time a dude does something that she feels is disrespectful" then I will no longer be dealing with her.
I tell a female straight up, you gotta have thick skin to be with me cuz I can brush shit off very easily and expect you to do so. If you the type to call a dude a "bitch ass nigga" because he doesn't think that the situation is serious enough to have a "nigga moment" then get to stepping. Everything is not worth fighting or losing your life over. If a dude call you a "bitch" or "he hit me on my ass" don't call me talking bout "I want you to be this niggas ass cuz he just called me a bitch". No. It's not happening. That shit mean NOTHING to me. I guess i'm this way cuz i'm used to dealing with females who can and will stand up for themselves before running to another person. I know a dude younger than me who is in the grave, who fought and got shot by a dude all because the dude either hit on or just looked at his girl.
Dumb shit.
Call me a bitch if you want but at least I won't make the mistake of dying over a female who has a false sense of what protection really is. Protection is just making sure that the female is not harmed.
