Why do Americans think the phone business evolve around them?
I know over 70 people that use Blackberry and yes, its not as flashy with stupid games like Iphone but they like the BBM facility and its comfortable to use.

I'm talking about pple in the Gulf, Africa, Europe and Asia.

I mean I cant remember when was last time I read any good news about this blackberry maker

Its tiring, depressing and at times it makes me question if I had made a good choice. For the last 4years I've only used Blackberry phones except as soon as I started seeing school children with Blackberries I knew its appeal would shift downwards.

Now their core consumer group is split between really young people and business people.

So identifying a middle ground could save them.

But I still fail to understand why media hates RIM so much. This shit is just getting out of control.

RIM is like Sears when they was going head to head with Walmart. Sears stayed in there old ways of what they were selling while Walmart stepped up and chnage to a store that sold everything. RIM believes they do not need to change to overcome their challenges and they are dying.

Its not a conspiracy, you can't see it because you've only used their inferior product but trust me. They are at least 5 years behind the curve. I used to be the biggest blackberry head until they tried 9700 users with the upgrade to 6.0. I've been android ever since. Checked out the new ones this weekend and its just more of the same. They are stale and stuck with an outdared mindset. Think G.M. 5 years ago...

umm no, RIM just sucks, theres no innovation. You can't expect to continue business when your rivals are constantly upgrading their product and youre doing nothing

I dont think the media hates them, they are just old technology.

The OS feels old in comparison to iOS & Android.
Phone designs are mostly the same and have been for a long time.
Blackberry enterprise server sync costs $20 per month and per device. Then it requires an IT department have a dedicated server to maintain
Lack of apps and devs
The Storm debacle

my last phone was a blackberry, which was cool at the time because it was my 1st smartphone,,, i now have a droid x & there is a world of difference,,, thx to droid x, i'm now one of those douche bags who is always tapping & looking at my phone screen

Blackberries were cool when they were the only phone that had email and a physical keyboard. I switch quite honestly because BBM got a little too fakking annoying.

Have a EVO and might get a Iphone if it goes on sale at sprint. I have no alliance to any phone company that dont pay me. Fuck them all....

There hasn't been any new/good news to print. There's hasn't been any innovation in their software. Thus they are just wading in the water.

They put a lot of stock in the playbook, which did not take off, especially since it didn't have a native email app (the #1 thing RIM was known for).

Perhaps if they took the playbook OS and designed it for phone usage they would make headlines once again.

but they have a huge market share ouutside US

One reason: BBM

Other than that. BBs are crap. They did not evolve with the times, and are now lagging behind iOS, Android, and even fucking WM7. :smh:

If not for BBM, BBs will have died an even faster death. Their time is coming, unless radical changes are made, fast.

Early next year RIM will be releasing their new QNX platform. This is their last chance to redeem their self. If not, this time next year we'll be seeing "Google Blackberry Bold" and "Google Blackberry Curve" phones in the market.
I don't like monopoly's but, I honestly think that a company like Google would do a better job of furthering the Blackberry brand in the future then RIM is doing. Blackberry would be Google's business phone brand, while Motorola will be Google's highend, multimedia smartphone brand.

THERE IS NO CONSPIRACY.

RIM is hated on (especially by the business/tech publications) because they had PLENTY of time to catch up with Apple or at least compete... and they didn't. They were in blatant denial FOR YEARS. And waited until the iPhone 3Gs before they actually decided to upgrade their OS.

When the CEO's are saying stupid shit like this....

"Try typing a web key on a touchscreen on an Apple iPhone, that's a real challenge. You cannot see what you type"
- November 2007, CEO Mike Lazaridis

"The most exciting mobile trend is... Full Qwerty keyboards. I'm sorry, it really is."
- May 2008, CEO Mike Lazaridis

"The iPhone was great for BlackBerry! People came in looking for an iPhone and walked out with a BlackBerry"
- 2008, CEO Mike Lazaridis

I could go on, but bottom line. They were in denial for a couple of years, too slow to react, and when they finally did, they over-promised and never delivered. RIM's failures are 100% THEIR FAULT. If I was a RIM shareholder, I would be PISSED. E - V - E - R -Y - O - N - E was telling them the sky is falling, and they ignored that shit until it was too late.

LMAO… Sounds like a nigga stuck with the old order of things and hates to adopt to the new. RIM is on some dinosaur shyt right now. Don't matter how ppl are presently using the shyt, they are losing their base because they've stopped innovating.

You are among the cohort of consumers whose allegiance to a product, or insistence in its superiority was at one time a source of pride worthy of admiration, but once you peel through the layers, is instead deserving of scorn and derision because of the insecurity that is at its root. You are like the tennis player who long for the days of wooden rackets and claim a moral superiority due to your resistance towards adopting the latest in carbon fiber and graphite construction, but in fact are simply foolish and inept in your clumsy attachment towards the obsolete.

iChuckle at the inanity of your argument!

here the thing

I just got my first BB and im not going to lie its hard as hell to use
but ALL my friends are on BBM my 3 sister are on BBM, all my friend that are in Korea are on BBM, in the islands are on BBM

my friend some it up best just before i got this phone, black berry servers are in Canada but they are so secure that the US government made it the official communication device for the president, so if you want a phone to communicate securely get a Black Berry, if you want a gameboy music playing toy get an iphone....

i should have got an iphone

being neutral I have a BB and Im getting tired of it. I'm waiting til march to copp a evo. my issue is RIM dont change the design of the BB, the web browser suck to the point my itouch safari is faster than that shit, stupid apps and wack OS.

I'm not getting an iphone because I think its overrated and too much people got it. Plus the iphone is too thick and the screen is small as fuck compared to a droid and evo. :smh:
