Computer/laptop heads: Which is a better deal?

I'm looking to get a new laptop and wonder what you guys think is a the best deal for the price.

This Powerbook G4 for $500:

I have for sale an Apple Powerbook G4 15".
The laptop is 14 Months old and has 22 Months of Apple Care warranty which is fully transferable.
Specs include 1.67Ghz G4 PowerPC processor, 1 GB of DD2 SDRAM memory, 100 GB HD (5400 RPM), 15.2 inch Display , Airport Extreme Card (802.11G WiFi), Super Drive DVD-Burner / CD-Burner. The OS is the Tiger 10.4.9 and it also has the MS Office 2004. The price is $500.

the mac wins in this situation.

but if your gonna buy a used laptop for that price.
why dont you get a new pc for a lil more

I'd go with the Apple on this one. If I were you, I'd try and get an Apple Laptop that had the Intel Dual-Core processor in it. Then you can run Apple Tiger and Windows XP/Vista on it.

i am a mac head, but the g4 can't run the latest os's built for the intel chip.

THe PC seems more flexible for options and expansion. don't think now, think which one will i have to replace first

Out Of These Two I Would Choose The Mac. Haven't Heard Anything Bad About Them Except Software Being Expensive And Some Hard To Find.

I say get the mac. I had the same exact one and I loved it. I had to give it to my younger sister when she started college but I miss having it bad.

I could be wrong, but I don't think that you can upgrade it to a dual-core. Plus, if you upgrade, it's gonna cost more to spend money on a new processors and hardware. Spend the extra $200-$300 and buy an Apple Powerbook with a Intel Dual-core processor. Apple has a free software program called "Bootcamp" that lets you install Windows XP or Vista so you get the best of both worlds.
