Compton album stream!!!!!

This album (soundtrack) is wack! Dre is out of touch with contemporary music and that probably why detox never came out. Him and all the artist that rapped on this album are all overrated and Dre beats are lukewarm.

you're tripping

Just sampled it in the whip...shit is tough and i aint even a Dre fan or been anticipating this shit..this shit definately gonna stay in the rotation

Man this is not a typical Dre. Dr album. This joint is some stir fried shit for the most part. I was looking for some hardcore west coast shit and got some kind of jazzy old head bullshit.

Fuck outta here slim,I been here since 2006 and you corny niggas still cracking that same joke. The album sucks, and what? Dre is one of my favorites but he's not getting a pass on this one(critically). Couple of decent joints but it's definitely his worst shit.

co-sign@!

Album is cool. Always good to see WC fam coming together to create on a project. There's some bangers on there. As far as the musical direction, after TPAB, Dre had to get busy. Couldn't drop the standard format, gansta gansta. He's older. And so is Compton as a city.

Needed Ren, Quik and Eiht. Maybe King T. Looks like a showcase for HIS artist instead of compton. The COMPTON song on kendrick's album fits perfectly for example.

Why did they put cube on that damn rock song?

Why does dre. rap with the weird voice except for the last track (best song and its dre by himself)

Too many artist on each song, snoop nor cube needed anyone but the girls singing on their songs.

Sing-songie dudes on the first track made me :smh:

How the hell you gonna make a NWA soundtrack and its not gangster as hell? He could have kept the same musical concepts, the production was and A, but the rappers were a C over all.

All them new dudes and he didn't let crooked I rock this shit? It's almost a slap in the face to the better west coast rappers. Where the fuck was Kurpt?

I like that he had cold187 on there but shit bring MC Breeze and DubC.

How in the fuck do you not have a song with REN and Cube????

Couple good tracks but that is not enough to get my money or get play in my car. No replay value.

HOWEVER it may fit very well in the movie because it is a soundtrack.

But come on this aint no boyz in the hood, Menace 2 society, poetic justice, or above the rim. Its below all of them and had the most potential. Not even close.

No way Dre produced this album. Beats are horrible, the emcees he chose are fucking young thugs mimics. Even Kdot is wack on this. This is worse than the Aftermath album. Even Cube trying to make a record talking about hood shit?

This is fucking trash man, surprised that so many like it sonically. This so far below the sound and feeling of the chronic and 2001.

Well at least he is donating proceeds to the city to build a community center

Dr. Dre to Donate All Proceeds From New Album to Compton Charity

decent album...ended up skimming it anyway lol...will give it a proper listen tho...the beats are on point...dre did his thing...as did snoop and kendrick on a couple tracks...just wish he had some more hard hitting MCs as features...cuz a good amount of tracks were dope but they felt "wasted" w/ the featured artists not really shining on the track imo

That Ice Cube cut is mean. On some Natural Born Killas vibe. The sound is big.

Dre did some Hannibal Lecter type ish with his vocals. You know how they made him look younger in Red Dragon?

Loose Cannons
Genocide
Animals

Right now.

I don't know wtf some of y'all listened too
One person says it's old head shit and someone else says it sounds like young thug

ya dude does sound a lot younger...like a whole new artist...except on the last track

 Still haven't cracked that one open yet. I'm waiting to run the whole thing through. This album is going to have some staying power in my rotation. I can tell. The percussion. Him and Primo make a deadly combo. Great that they finally linked up.

If they did something for Nas together.:itsawrap:

If they did something for Nas together.:itsawrap:

that'd be dope...shit he long overdo for a track or something @ least...after hearing droog bite his shit...no way nas can't still put some shit out

Man there is not one track on there that sounds like or is as good as Natural Born Killers. Nigga should have had more hard shit like the joint he did with Ti and Stat quo for the Detox album.

Like someone already said, an album for an NWA movie should have came much harder than this. He could have released this joint as some kind of experimental chill shit for the old head niggas.

So did I especially with it being a soundtrack for Compton.

I could see these tracks on the Detox album because that name alone was kinda suppose to mean a releas from that.

Yeah that's how he was going with this. I was looking for that Dre on the Detox album. Since he didn't drop it I felt he should give some more hardcore Dre shit.

Just had my hopes for some hardcore or smooth gangsta shit.

Shit is still hard tho.

Some decent criticism. I said the same.

1. I wanted to hear some of those same MCs from Compton instead of the unknowns. That would've been a nice nostalgic throwback to all the Compton artist that are still making music 20+ years later. Anderson Paak?

2. That track was suppose to be reminiscent of the Natrual Born Killaz track him and Cube did on Aftermath.

3. Some tracks did sound crowded with too many people.

4. I think some hardcore artist weren't on here because he wanted to soften the edges and make it something for everyone and new comers who never listen to Dre before.

Yeah lot of people saying the same. A few more hard hitting MCs would've set this off right.

Shit is still hard tho.

I had similar expectations but feel like he delivers a good product with this. As far as the hardcore smooth gangsta shit, it didn't work with Kush. Kush was corny at this stage.

He had to go the sophisticated route with this because Quik and Kendrick both raised the bar with their latest releases. Those albums are hella mature. And good. No way he's going have Kurupt or Eiht on there talking that shit. And those piano beats.

And it is still hard. A lot of singing. But still a record his city can be proud of.

Two days in bumpin this non stop.
Man.....this shit classic to me. To each his own.

The production and the way the songs flow together is crazy
Those that don't like this album at all must have hearing issues. Im sorry.

Yeah lot of people saying the same. A few more hard hitting MCs would've set this off right.

a "few" fixes...use his regular rap voice...keep kendrick...dump all the other features...feature the rest of TDE...game...crooked I as someone said and maybe nipsey hussle  that album woulda been hard af  still a solid effort tho...genocide goes in too...didn't big that up on my 1st listen

A lot of great, respectable comments & insight. I've FINALLY listened to it in its

entirety and STILL gotta ride around & listen this weekend before I can effectively

critique it. May even have to listen again after seeing the movie. I agree with "a lil

TOO MANY" features on it tho. Would have loved to hear Dre, Cube, Ren, Snoop,

Dogg Pound, K Dot, Em, Game, 50, some other West Coast greats Eight, Quik and

may be 3-4 new cats. But just hearing a hip hop album in 2015 come out my

speakers the way this does :wepraise::bravo:

Only 10 tracks in but Dre don't EVEN SOUND like Dre. I'm like who the fuck is this until I realize its him. Snoop didn't even sound like himself, thought he was eminem at first. Why everybody using that same kendrick rap style with the voice distortion an rhyme pattern.

Damn even game doin it :hmm:........ :hithead:

The tracks themselves though are put together to the highest level though  Should've gave this album to Kendrick or Game

Yeah that Kush track was so so :smh:

And Quik and Kendrick projects is the reason he should've had Quik on this production wise Quik could've added a lot to this as well. He could've made this album sound more like the west coast and Compton for the new school. Quik would've really brought out the theme of the album title to me especially with the r&b gangsta jazzy route Dre was going for anyway. Quik would've been perfect for helping Dre with that.

King Mez, Justus Anderson Paak, are all over this album???????? :smh: Seeing them on the track you just can't help but feel like they are bench warmers taking the franchise players position.

But yes this album is still very enjoyable.

wait..what?! Dre and Primo :eek::eek:

Yup Premo got some too. I was like WTF!? track 14 Animals is like that.

The Game was doing what he usually do on albums, try to imitate whoever the popular MCs flow is. On that second verse he was doing his Kendrick Lamar impression.!

In the intro is that this guy

Production is fucking perfect. Missing D.O.C, Ren. I bet that Detox shit that he ain't feeling would be bangin to us.
