Communism

that shit doesn't even work on paper unless you suspend rationale.

The only place socialism works is in the family. No matter how productive or unproductive you are, you're gonna get fed. However, that doesn't work in the real world. Every person has to be productive to earn their keep.
like I said, on paper socialism works if everyone works for the greater good. People are not on the same level, physically, academically, mentally etc....which is why it doesn't work in real life. Pride is a mother fucker. If you are better than someone in say...fishing your probably going to want the biggest/most fish for yourself, instead of sharing it with the people who are better at farming than you are and vice versa. If everyone worked for the greater good and towards the greater social good, Socialism can work, but like I said, man is too vain and greedy to allow the have-not's a share which is why it can't work. its a great system, however it could never truly be realized.

Socialism works in small, racially and culturally homogeneous countries. Works good as hell as a matter of fact. With $350MILLION people, it doesn't work so well. Problem is, in a nation this size, you have to do what works based on the situation. Rampant capitalism would go to shit quickly as well. You have to have checks and balances in a country this size to keep it from going third world on you. Government regulation of certain industries is a MUST in a nation this size because you can't depend on corporations to police themselves. You can't have a society that does not have laws policing the actions of it's citizens to maintain order (the same applies to CORPORATE citizens). The idea of regulation is anti-capitalist, but it is necessary.

Why does communisim/socialism fail...simple. Will it be George Bush, Dick Cheney, Barack Obama and the Clintons, The Kennedy's the Rockerfellas and the Rothchilds making $8.50 an hour for the rest of their lives or will it be you and I? Everybody making the same amount? Okay!

Damn you sound like George Bush Sr.

I think communism/socialism could work.

that's cause you don't know sheit about history or any coutry in detail outside the u.s.

tons of examples down the line showing how that form of gov't doesn't work, yet here you are pointing about a sinking ship, telling dudes how safe it is while it's goin down. read a book or sumthin

:smh:

socialism doesn't appear to work...few people try to get 'into' a socialist country...most are trying to get 'out'...

Not greater than the economic collapse that folded the USSR.

USSR was not communist. It was a stretch to even claim them as socialist. But the U.S. is without question a capitalist nation. All systems in use today have their problems but those sitting in the U.S. are in NO position to be casting stones. :smh:

I'm not about to argue with you over the definitions of these labels, fam.
All systems lie on a continuum.

With all the things that are going wrong with our economy and how fucked up and capitalism is. I think Karl Marx was right.

I think communism/socialism could work. Everybody be equal, no exploitation by these fucking super companies. No private companies fucking up peoples lives and the economy and then asking the Federal Government for help.

None of the Exxon Mobile and oil giants raping us everyday. None of the rich getting richer. Just everybody are fucking equal.

Communism is a planned economy...ie central government assess demand and ensures supply meets it.

Your confident that any government could determine and implement that?
Not a chance in hell........

Capitalism is not without flaws but it's the best of a bad bunch!!!!

Capitalism works just fine. It's just become unbalanced in this land. A massive country wide riot will sort things out for a while.

It didn't work because human(or those you refered to) got greedy and got power drunk then the oppression of the weak and poor got it crumbled.

co-sign. They abused their power because they wanted syht their way. To be a communist lead you must be really objective and strong minded, you can't let your opinion and emotions control you..

ninjas should really do researching before they post.:smh:

Communism WILL NOT work here in the US because it's fundamentally flawed from the get go.:smh:

There can't be a "workers paradise" where all is equal because some of "us" are more talented than others and "we" all don't contribute equally. Nor do we all want the same things in life.

As it was stated before; you're NOT gonna pay a doctor the same as a janitor. Or rocket scientist the same as a bus driver. Or a computer graphics designer the same as a Mcdonalds worker.
"Each according to their own talents" is a great mantra. With that in mind; it's my RIGHT to shoot for the stars and, if I choose, I should be able to sell my talent to the highest bidder. You don't have that very important option in Communism.

In a Communist government; you still need leaders. And the definition of leadership alone means you have to have someone to stand out apart/above/in front of the rest.
Do you really think the Chinese premire is being paid the same as a clerk in his administration? Or the generals in the Chinese army are being paid the same as the grunts? No, of course not...

It doesn't work. At least; not without force...
And when you've got to use force to achieve these means, you've quite effectively become a dicatorship...:hmm:

Do you really think the people in Cuba "love" Fidel Castro? Or are they just afraid of him & his militia? I seriously doubt it...:smh:
The Cubans I know who escaped Castro hate his guts...

Here are some facts:

Without socialism, there would still be chattel slavery, children working, education for money, no such thing as health insurance, no such thing as pensions, no such thing as women's rights, no such thing as workers rights.

The two main strains of Socialism are the dominant forms of economy today, best exemplified by the Western Democracies and the old Soviet Union.

Before Karl Marx, Socialists pushed for all of those things above - it was the conservatives who didn't want them and fought hard over the past 200 years against them. And don't forget - the party which John McCain now leads is the party of Lincoln, with its main plank of the containment and eventual abolishment of chattel slavery. It may now have been hijacked by the religious right and the ultra free economists, but that is its core.

Secondly, Karl Mark and Friedrich Engles never - repeat NEVER - advocated the prompting of a revolution. In other words, they always wrote of the inevitability of the world voting for socialism. Some of their more obscure works were twisted in the Second International by the nilhistic wing and the Anarchists to argue for an armed revolution to force socialism on the world. For their own good.

The world simply wasn't and isn't ready. Lennism begot State Socialism, a system that feeds upon itself for power and wealth for its elite. Remember Elian Gonzalez, the Cuban boy who was returned to his father? Well, his dad wanted him back because he was a Communist Party member who was doing very well relatively speaking in Cuba while working in the hotels.

Russia might never have survived the Nazi invasion in 1939 without the State Socialists in charge. In fact if it wasn't for Stalin's purges of the late 1930s, the Germans wouldn't have gotten to the suburbs of Moscow. That's not a contradiction.

The elite, the aparatchiks, promoted their own, sent their children to the best schools, ate the best resturants, had their own supermarkets that didn't have shortages - all in the name of making people equal.
