Comics: Who was/is THE Most POWERFUL Super Hero Group of ALL TIME?

I'm old school,so i'll throw some dark horse teams in here....

The Defenders:They once fought The Avengers to a standstill...

Defenders442.jpg

The Justice Society:They had a member who could defeat just about ANY of these teams by himself(The Spectre).

"The Spectre has also played a pivotal role in the Crisis on Infinite Earths and Zero Hour storylines. In both cases, in the final struggle against the main villain (the Anti-Monitor and Parallax, respectively) the Spectre was the only hero capable of standing against the villains directly, allowing the other heroes time to put a plan into action that would destroy the villains once and for all."

"The Spectre is the most powerful known being in the universe and is capable of virtually any feat. His powers have vastly increased over the years. At times the Spectre utilized the mystic Ring of Life to perform feats beyond his powers."

how bout the Crime Syndicate of Amerika? :dunno:

they've got the evil version of Superman........Ultraman:cool:

I was thinking the same thing. Similarly the Squadron Supreme, also another variation on the theme. without teh moral Governor, these groups would make a bloody mess of the good guys....

Still remember the face off between Supes and the Spectre following the Death of Supergirl in the original Crisis. Supes couldn't budge him, great artwork and deleivery of the story. I agree that the Spectre may be unbeatable...

Sorry guys. had to do it.It's not as though these groups are real. Their win or loss depends upon a coin toss by the writers.

Actually, its the SpaceKnight and Ronan who're the weaklings of the group.. and that's saying something....:yes::yes::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Well, Ronan is class 100 right? And Quasar is basically Green Lantern without a need to re-charge.

oh yeah, I haven't forgotten about the FF you wanted, I am still looking for the whole set.

Thanx for checking on the FF.. and Ronan isn't class 100, but about 40-75, but his other abilities and his weapon are what make him feared.

again, is it marvel vs dc...? cause superman isnt that powerful. who can stop the Hulk? the madder he gets the more powerful he becomes. who can stop prof x, the most powerful telepath on earth. what about dark phoenix. galatics, thanos, the infinty gauntlet, the cosmic cube, the ultimate nulifier

I can't believe none of y'all said the LOSH!!! (Legion of Super-Heroes).

You think the JLA got it made cause of Supes? LOSH has Superboy, Supergirl, Laurel Gand (all Kryptonians with the same powers) as well as Mon'El (who, as a Daxamite, is more powerful than Superman)!

Hell, for anyone on any of the teams y'all mentioned, the Legion got 2 to handle them!!!

Only team seeing the Legion is probably the Authority & that's only because they'll cold kill your ass!

The Legion is no joke man.

and pre-crisis? GTFOH

Mon El, Superboy, Supergirl, Braniac 5, Ultra boy and the original Karate kid??

The dude was a regular human and could fucking smash his was out of a giant diamond.

Not to mention Element lad, Saturn Girl and the "lesser" hero's.

Still, the A squad wrecks shit.

Anyone who didn't pick Legion of Superheroes doesn't know what they're talking about. Only competition is the JSA when they had the other guy as Spectre Jim Corrigan. But i don't personally count him because he's not REALLY a member. Spectre is an aspect of god.

Andromeda - Like all Daxamites, Andromeda gains super strength, flight, near-invulnerability, super-senses, super-speed, heat vision, arctic breath and x-ray vision when exposed to the light of a yellow sun. When Andromeda was exposed to the "Fires of Creation", she had light based powers for a time. It is not known if she still has these abilities or if they were only temporary. Daxamites are more powerful than Kryptonians.
Tyroc - Tyroc possesses a sonic scream; the pitch, volume, and words of his scream could initially vary to produce a variety of different effects. Abilities Tyroc manifested with his scream included teleportation, pyrokinesis, and wind manipulation. His range and extent of his abilities were ill-defined and very expansive. More recent depictions have shown Tyroc with a more straightforward, concussive sonic scream with additional echolocation abilities. He could warp reality. And make physics his bitch.
Cosmic Boy - Cosmic Boy's superpower is super-magnetism. He can manipulate, repel or attract metal objects of varying sizes. Naturally, the more metal is in an object the easier it is for him to affect magnetically. Cosmic Boy has been show to pull large iron meteors and satellites down from space with minimal effort. He can use his magnetic power on rocks that contain iron ore to pull or use them a projectiles. He can also magnetize metal objects so that they become magnets themselves and stick make them stick to other metal objects. His power cannot affect non-magnetic metals, such as aluminum and gold, or organic substances like wood or flesh. His control is such that he can manipulate electronic records or the iron in blood. He has been known to use a uniform with ferrous fibers so he can fly with his own powers, but usually relies on a Legion flight ring.
Sun Boy - Dirk Morgna has the ability to tap into internalized solar power, allowing him to project luminance and heat to whatever degree he desires. He is able to project light bright enough to lead to permanent blindness and that could be seen from miles away in space. He can concoct heat within seconds that can melt through steel or be tossed as fireballs. In the postboot reality, Dirk also had infrared vision and could detect heat patterns.
Element Lad - Element Lad have the ability to transmute substances on the atomic level. This a native ability to their home world, Trom. The Element Lad of Earth-Prime's transformations only lasted 60 seconds, and he had to be in contact with the material.

Divine Powers
The Element Lad of Earth-247 he had also learned how to change his own chemical make-up. As the Progenitor, he lived over billions of years, in the Second Galaxy. In this time, he learned to use his abilities to actually create (or destroy) life, making him near-omnipotent.
I'm not even gonna go on... i'm not.

I'm not a comic head, and I've never heard of these cats, but looking at all these names, these niggas are like the Wu-Tang Clan of comic heroes.

^^^

but it IS a good call...

They have heroes from damn near EVERY planet so in theory they got the numbers

Like I said, Pre-crisis it's the legion. 25 cats, 3-4 people on pre-crisis superman level, Brainiac -5 dude, it's unreal.

post Crisis, 4 man group give me Banner, Radd, Strange and McKenzie AKA the Defenders

Other than that, I stand by my earlier comments

Regardless of what's written in the comics,....if you'd go by what's based on the powers of the person themselves.....
it would be hard not to put this group in the category. Especially when the main villain is immortal and can virtually
give himself any superhuman power.
