I love this comic back and forth. I honestly am surprised at the kneeling, a lil over dramatic BUT, I give Magneto the benefit of the doubt and will wait to see how things develop before passing judgement. To me the telling points will be how Mangus deals with not just these Xmen but how he opposes Osborn. The old Magnus would surely make Norman pay but we'll see. His relationship with Namor will be interesting as well.

Cyclops - IMO - Is acting accordingly. To put this into perspective. You can have a great father. That teaches you, nurtures you and helps you become a man and a leader. Now if that father did some unhanded business that affected your life, the life of your siblings...and others you cared about the way it affected Scott's family. It would be a shock to the system that will let you know that though you may still have some respect for this man, the relationship with him would be altered. He can't be close and he can't be in charge again.
Magneto was the man...but ultimately he failed. He failed so much that his home was brought crashing down to the sea. He failed so much that he does not have a healthy relationship with his only son and his only grand daughter. He failed so much that he lost his daughter. He was powerless to help his people when the shit came down in House of M, Decimation and 198. Now imagine being rendered powerless and pretty much having to be at the mercy of another in order to get that power back. This Magneto has been humbled. Now, the teenage punk that you use to mock and defeat has become a man and is doing all the things that you wanted to do. Plus, he has a son that actually talks to him...Who is also a warrior for his people...While your son went full crack head? Shit...

As you saw in Magneto face when he realized Hope was Alive...Magneto said himself that he was wrong ans Mutants are not the future he thought they were...Cyclops has led the mutants to the one place he feels he can protect them, he's finally showing the promise he's had all these years..Like I said I'm diggin it, e be a one dimensional character for so long, and while I do miss how advanced he was in Astonishing..( no Visor ) I can deal with him growing and taking over..Its his time

Man, I remember when this came out and people were very excited (I was selling comics at the time)...the delay on that book was one of the first I ever had to deal with as a reader and as a seller.
People were upset and starting dropping Image comics off their list...then Wetworks did the same thing and I lost a lot of customers. Reduced my Image orders on everything except Spawn and Savage Dragon...and that was only because I had people paying me in advance for the month for their books.
Going to DL these and pray that they are good.

I always assumed they would reveal that he was being mentally influenced by Emma in some way. He was a cornball for all those years until he hooked up with her.
Its kind of like what she did to Iceman when she took over his body and showed him the true potential of his powers.
Other things i don't like is how Emma has replaced Storm as the second in command.
Bishop Has become a psychopath (although I like the way the stalking of Cable and Hope I just don't know why they made Bishop the stalker)
Colossus and Nightcrawler are just filler. They have been with the group for years but they don't have opinions?
I could see Magneto doing anything he can to get a foot in the door and to get in Scott's ear. If he wants to lead the mutants to greatness, then he needs to be where the mutants are. He has to gain their trust before he can make a move.
Cyclops has shown in the past that he can make hard decisions check out "Marvel Comic Presents: Cyclops", "The adventures of Scott Summers and Jean Grey", "The further adventures of Scott Summers and Jean Grey" and the story lines after Jean died as Phoenix in which he left the X-Men and the early formation of X-Factor. Cyclops characterization is actually spot on with a typical "tribesman" progression.
In Bishop's opinion, Hope causes his future. That's Marvel's reasoning. This character has jumped the shark too many times. They should have left him to progress as Mutant Town's cop leading into Federal agencies...I always thought him and Warmachine would make the perfect team up. One for the humans another for the mutants both working on security. Marvel painted him in a corner. The only thing that will save his character is if he is right and Hope returns to rape the Earth.
Lastly, whomever follows Magneto from the mutant will be straight retarded. Sure he maybe able to raise the suicidal hate mongers among the mutants but his track record is too tainted.
Magneto: "I will lead you to the next age of Mutant GLORY!"
Mutant 1: "OK. Where will we go?"
Magneto: "The Savage Land!"
Mutant 2: "Yeah but last time didn't we lose like 100 mutants to dinosaurs and monsters and we had to rely on Moon Boy and Devil Dinosaur to survive."

Mutant 3: "I don't know man, last time I was on there...you was getting high with Cortez...next thing you know we got fubar'ed into the sea man. Plus those uniforms were not cracking."

Cyclops: "Guys get out of the courtyard dinner is served in the cafeteria...Steak and potatoes...for you veggie head we got salads."
Mutant 3: "Man last time we was on Asteroid M, we had to eat that tube food shit that came from another mutant that use to produce food stuff...man that shit was for the birds...Be right there, Cyke."

I'm glad there has been some evolution of Scott's Character. He just couldn't continue being such a wet-blanket and lead the X-men. I think that Jean dying (for the FINAL time I hope) freed him. Too much of his character was tied up in their relationship to point I don't think he even knew who he really was, and to a lesser extent I think the same of the mentor/pupil relationship he had with Prof X. They both kept him stunted.
I always remember in the 90's cartoon of X-men all I could ever remember him doing is getting his orders ignored by Wolverine and crying 'Jean!' whenever that lame bitch overused her powers or got shot because she was too dumb to get out of the way.
As for the Live action movie portrayal of Cyclops...Yeesh. No leadership qualities or presence whatsoever (Not to mention such horrible casting. I mean Marsden, really!?)
Cyclops is experienced, well trained, and capable. It's about time he put it all together. Yeah, I'm not completely onboard with a lot of the stuff currently happening in the X-men comics right now but, I like that Cyclops has a little more edge to him now. I mean, the creation of the new Black-ops X-force, surprised me, but it was an intelligent decision given the current status quo. With mutants backed into a corner, there was little else that could be done. Having X-force to carry-out pre-emptive strikes instead of waiting for the shit hit their doorstep is just a prudent tactical measure. I imagine every modern government that has the funds and tech capabilities has special ops units.

Some how i see this whole Magneto kneeing as another move on the chess board before he becomes king. lets wait to see how this plays out before we judge this lil event. I like how Scott has change to deal with the world around his people. i don't like how they painted Prof x. Some fucker that would Lie and do under handed shit to get shit done his way!? he was the man that belive that every one could live together, but now he is reduce to starting a fight with Magneto over nothing GTFO

thats what I hate about what they did to Prof X also... Shit makes no sense whatsoever.
They should never had made that whole arc about the 3rd summers bother, they tried to force that in to the history of the xmen, which fuck Xaiver character up.

Actually Prof.X has a long history of being a dick. Especially in his earlier appearances. The "kinder, gentler" Prof.X from the late 80's/90's was really the retcon.

I agree. Much as I love Ed Brubaker, he made a major misstep writing that Deadly Genesis storyline, then the X-Men books he wrote which made fucking Vulcan (Vulcan??) into the leader of the Shi'ar empire. Unnecessary and unwanted. Best character to come out of that was Darwin (since Brubaker killed the other secret X-Men).
As for Xavier, again, that storyline was the final line in the sand, keeping Scott and Alex's other brother a secret after recruiting him and being responsible for his "death". That storyline cemented Charles Xavier as a fucking asshole of the highest order, so I didn't mind seeing Scott man up and say "enough of this shit. you been fucking us all over for years with your secrets, lies and manipulations. GET THE FUCK OUT".
But this shit here, Xavier attacking unprovoked, Magneto KNEELING to Scott (I don't care WHAT the fuck Scott is doing for mutantkind, Magneto would stand beside him, not fucking KNEEL before him!)... this shit is just extra.
Speaking of what Scott is doing for mutantkind, I wonder what Magneto would say about his mutant mercenary team, X-Force? Would he still be kneeling before that muthafucka?
