This is without a doubt the DUMBEST book I've read all year. This bitch can't beat a gorilla? He beat her down, let her recover, then beat her down again and all he did was talk. Didn't use no special powers, no equipment, no technology...just his fucking fists. PG got all the powers of Superman and didn't use a damn one of em. Now he's slicing her skull open to quote "Cut out the LEAST USED part of your body." This is AFTER he finished feeling her up. After reading the first 2 books all I can say is Power Girl definitely belongs in the DC lineup.

Dumb Cunt

I loved Power girl when I was younger.
I just think that once Supergirl came back DC didn't know what to do with her.
They changed her origin 3 times!

This IS the worst book ever. It's like it is marketed to kids or something.
Why is she not involved in the Krypton Saga?
Mon El (Valor) was worked into the storyline.

I totally agree. It was like reading a 6th Grade essay on how to do a Super Heroine. I won't even mention the back story cause it was totally asinine. PG is pure titillation. Fluff. First she's captured, beaten, tortured and is about a minute away from a lobotomy. And the gorilla has other issues. He wants to stick HIS brain in HER body! :smh:

I really wish I did not read that.

One of my favorite characters in Marvel has always been Longshot.

When it was revealed that Shatterstar was his son...I had to put him on my list of favorite characters...

That mofo is dead to me!

Northstar...then Phyla-Vell and Moondragon...and now Shatterstar.

what the firetruck.

Man...

I don't mind if a character is like that all not (don't want to spoil the story for anyone) - but the history of these already established characters does not support this sudden character trait.

I do remember an issue of X-Force that has Shatterstar and Rictor on the cover on motorcycles where they went to a club and got with chicks...So this recent issue got me like "How the fuck? Do they go from this to that..."

Actually in Shatterstar's case it had been hinted at earlier and at one point was planned to be addressed in X-Force so it's not "sudden" at all.

In the case of Northstar it had been the intention of John Byrne to explore that trait since the 1980's. Check the FAQ on Byrne's site (or just Google it) for that story.

Wow.. that shit made me...:puke: It's amazing that Comics have fallen into the "I have to push an agenda to be edgy" front. Midnighter and his beau , makes sense, not out of left field. THIS seems completely out of left field. :smh::smh::smh:

Yeah I think Peter David is just throwing stuff out there, I mean Rictor never showed any signs of that ( Boom Boom, Rayne, Siryn ) and I remember the X-Force issue with him and Shatterstar. S. Star was feeling uncomfortable about social interactions, not women.

Good news for you is that through some of the most confusing story telling ever they proved he wasn't the Son of Longshot and Dazzler....although it's probably going to change with them in the same book

Just curious if you read the link I posted which shows that this idea was not Peter David's at all? He's just picking it up from where someone else (Jeph Loeb) left it off.

Let's at least blame the right person.

True. It's kinda like How I blame Fraction for Frakkin up Psylocke lately. Even thoguh he did bring her back to the 616. I ultimately blame claremont and hope he corrects his error in X-men forever.

Claremont made her asian.. was gonna change her back. But left the book
Nicienza made her a slutty asian and ninja cuz that was the in thing. Stuck her in a stoopid thong for years.
A ton of other writers have no clue who/what she is. So she becomes a powerset in a thong, for the jack off crew.
Claremont comes back and keeps her asian.. due to marvel marketing BS.
Gives her Telekinesis and no character development.
Then he KILLS her.. yay.
She comes back STILL frikkin asian(which isnt so bad as my ex-gf is japanese)
She skips off to the multiverse, where claremont kills every instance of her British self.. for some odd reason. She falls in love with a dude who eviscerated her.
Under Fraction She somehow comes back to earth and regains her British body in the most asinine plot.. during the sisterhood arc. That whole damn thing was all a big GOTCHA!.
Sticks her back in the asian body. Then says Fans will love it. :smh::smh:

Now claremont says in X-men forever he can make her british again... I'll believe it when I see it.. and it lasts for at least a year.

Same deal with Shattershot. Take an already cool character and wack-a-doodle em into something based off suck and lose.

In the midst of the talk of bad books and bad character development I want to point out that last week's Detective Comics was excellent. If you don't check it out for the story then give it a look for the artwork of JH Williams III. Great stuff in there.

Really? Someone told me Jim Lee was behind the whole designing her asian fiasco...

two words SHE HULK. thats what it reminds me of how byrne first did it with that comedic type of story tellin ,but not as good that of Characterization dosent work on all characters. power girl has so much potential to be great a time lost other world kryptonian with big tits.:yes:

all Claremont. But Jim Lee( who is a GREAT and amazing artist), stuck her in that ninja thong. That is when she degenerated into a Sex symbol, that writers had no clue how to write or what powers to give her.

It's the reason why after years, ALL the X-men have had costume changes.. Except her. Jim Lee's ninjakini became her trademark costume. While the armour is the trademark for the British one. In essence she became two people literally. That's why i'm hoping that Claremont fixes his mistake, in X-men forever. Then it carries over to the main books.

No contest! Byrne wasn't the best writer in the world but his pens more than made up for most shortcomings. Peter David had her cracking and joking right up to the last book. These guys doing the writing for PG (Palmiotti & Gray)...can't seem to get out of each others' way. Two issues in and I'm ready to call it quits. One more ish then :itsawrap:
