They once killed a race of beings by interfering in their war, so they pledged only to watch from now on.
With that being said, I saw a Watcher fight Galactus to a stand still when he came to feed on Earth.
The watcher finally let Galactus drain his lifeforce if he would spare Earth.
I don't remember what issue of "What If" this was but it was deep.
Cannonball was an External but Marvel was sued by another company because they already had the same concept and name.
So they dropped it and killed off the Externals and the storyline.
But even if he is immortal, i'm not sure if he can get up from having his heart ripped out of his chest.
Buy the way, how many different futures are there in the X-Men universe. DAMN!
