Big-time businessman, Edwin Alva Sr., discovered Curtis at age 12 and with the blessing of Curt's parents, Alva enrolled Curt in a program intended to get minority students into elite prep schools. Curt proved to be much smarter than all the other prep school students. he graduated at age 14 and earned his first college degree at age 15. He went on to work for Edwin Alva's company.

In his Hardware identity, Curtis uses a variety of high-tech gadgets to fight organised crime.
