The Transformers comic book was published by Marvel Comics from 1984 to 1991. Originally it was designed as a limited series, published bi-monthly and intended to end with the fourth issue, but at the end of the limited series Marvel changed it into an ongoing, monthly comic book. It kept going for seven years and 80 issues, until it was finally cancelled in 1991.

A Transformer is an intelligent machine that is able to "transform", reconfiguring itself into a common and innocuous form, such as a car, aircraft, or animal. The taglines "More Than Meets the Eye" and "Robots in Disguise" reflect this ability.

Transformers originally featured two main factions warring for control of their home planet, Cybertron. The heroic Autobots (Cybertrons in the Japanese version) were led by Optimus Prime (known in the Japanese version as Convoy), and their opponents, the Decepticons (Destrons in the Japanese version), were led by Megatron. The Autobots were mainly cars in warm colors while the Decepticons were planes in cool colors, with some exceptions.

The Transformers universe is in fact a multiverse. Whilst the G1, G2 and Beast Era are connected to each other as a history, the comics and TV show merely run parallel to one another. The later Unicron trilogy has no connection whatsoever. The Dreamwave G1 comic uses the G1 Marvel comic as a vague history to draw upon, with classic characters intact rather than re-created. The new IDW comic is a reimaging of the original G1 characters, a la Marvel's Ultimate line.

"Hush" is a comic book story arc written by Jeph Loeb, and illustrated by Jim Lee (pencils), Scott Williams (inking), and Alex Sinclair (colors).
It was published in monthly installments as Batman #608-619 by DC Comics, starting in 2002, and was later collected into two volumes.
"Hush" tells the story of a mysterious stalker, head wrapped in bandages, that seems intent on sabotaging Batman from afar.

This is an awesome book, one of Jim Lee's finest works.

A History of Violence is a graphic novel written by John Wagner and illustrated by Vince Locke, originally published in 1997 by Paradox Press and later by Vertigo Comics, both divisions of DC Comics. It is also the source for the film of the same name directed by David Cronenberg, the first cinematic adaption of a work by John Wagner since 1995's Judge Dredd. The story concerns a small town Michigan cafe owner, Tom McKenna, who becomes a local hero after defending his store from an attempted robbery. When his story receives national attention, several members of the New York City Mafia arrive in town, believing him to be someone named Joey, who crossed them 20 years earlier. Whilst Tom protests his innocence to everyone, eventually his façade is dropped and he is forced to reveal his history of violence to his wife and son.

Barb Wire was a superhero published by Comics Greatest World, an imprint of Dark Horse Comics. A regular series was published for 9 issues between 1994-1995, followed by a mini-series in 1998.

The movie adaptation was released in 1996 starring Pamela Anderson as Barb Wire. The film, panned by critics and fans alike, was nominated for the Razzie Award for Worst Picture, but lost to the Demi Moore film Striptease.

Danger Girl is an American comic book series created by J. Scott Campbell and Andy Hartnell. The comic features a group of busty, scantily-clad secret agents led by a Connery-esque mentor. The comic was actually a spoof of James Bond type spy/action stories, with the Danger Girls being a send-up of the Bond Girls. Unlike the Bond Girls, the Danger Girls were, in fact, the center of the series, with their “mentor” being more of a decoy.
