But remember everybody:

BACK UP YOUR FILES TO A SECONDARY SOURCE!

These hard drives will crash eventually. I back mine up just like i do my music files.
Sure we could down load them over again but it would be a bitch to track down 5 years worth of digital comics!

Truth..

I spent too much mon..uhh..i mean..i spent too much damn time downloadin shit over the years to lose it to a hard drive crash...I snagged Acronis out of the tech section (thanks again BGOL)..and backed up all my shit i can't lose.. Music, Software, Pics, Comics, Personal Docs. got a damn 426GB backup file..(separate disk)..that can restore individual files..

Comic Book
Food For Thought

I am finally getting around to reading some of the non-fiction books that came as gifts from this holiday season gone by. I'm an avid reader but I had a back log of 70+ books to get through...

So one of my wives got me this gem here...

It's a solid read for those that love to see other people's perspective on Batman.

One of the chapters is titled - "Why doesn't Bruce Wayne retire already?" by Chris Roberson...

He covers every aspect from the financial reason DC/Warner won't do it to the story lines...characters and sheer will of 'Batman.'

He goes on to quote Erik Larsen's column on CBR that is a great read even if you are not into his work because he collects and reads a lot of books and talks about them like a lay men fan.

Check out this entry - http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=15035 - titled - Should comic book characters age?

Here is a quote - that I am very much in agreement with and it's sort of how I collect TPB concerning flagship characters of Marvel and DC.

Another thought I had (and I'm sure most of you will pooh-pooh this immediately, but wait until you hear me out first) would be to give every character a definite timeline and have them all be set in certain time periods. Superman really worked best as a character set in the late '30s and early '40s. Spider-Man, the FF, Nick Fury work best in the swingin' '60s and the man called Nova as a product of the '70s. What if the FF was set in the '60s? Why not? Then you wouldn't worry about him aging-- it would all fit. And you could have an older Spider-Man encountering Nova in the '70s. A Superman in the '30s works so well. If he's from the '30s, he really is the forerunner of all superheroes whereas now, because of the JSA, he's a relatively recent character. Sure, there would end up being gaffs made, but it might be pretty cool.

Marvel and DC have tried this in small methods...Spider man had a book called 'Untold Tales Of Spiderman' that all took place in the 60's and it was a critical HIT. Bruce Timm styled 'Batman The Animated Series' in the 30 to 50's era...and then had Batman Beyond which showed an aged Bruce Wayne another critical hit.

im betting that leader's crazy wife will most likely be the cause of it..

as for that boy who said he "had a black eye"..i think someone helped themselves to that eye

She will most likely be a red herring. It's going to be something more like 'Davidson' is or is equal to The Governor. Then some out of left field shit that was actually in our view comes out and slams you on your ass and reminds you that Kirkman serves Comic Book Crack all day every day...

true, straight garbage!!

I actually read the first arc...anything with Jason Todd is turds IMO.

No death has any value in the DC universe because in the end they will bring them back...that alone made that arc weak to me.

I've tried re-reading previous issues but they are just boring. Maybe it because Grayson isn't anything more than a substitute teacher and the "real" Batman is returning so that probably kills some of the fun. Batman and Batman streets of Gotham seem to hold my interest.

Either redeem Todd or gtfo.

I told you guys a year ago Morrison was fucking up Batman with this Grayson replacement that no one (not even his own sidekick) respects.

Mark my words...the return of Batman will be much worse than the return of Superman.
