i just finished the 18 issue run of supreme power(kinda late, i know. and yup, i actually bought those trades, on a rec.) and im wondering if any one has read the newer stuff under the squadron supreme title? is it interesting? edgy? political?

Yeah it's good as well. A little less political but only a little and the same edge to it. If I were you I'd also check out the Doctor Spectrum books. Straczynski is the writer on that one as well and, if i'm not mistaken, also the same art as the Supreme Power books. Unfortunately he didn't write the Nighthawk books which is are all shock value and not nearly enough interesting storytelling. Plus the art sucked. Hopefully Straczynski or someone else interesting will delve into Nighthawk as he's a great character I think. Speaking of though...

I've also been reading Squadron Supreme: Hyperion vs. Nighthawk which is on issue 3 of 4 now and is pretty good. It's written by Marc Guggenheim who did that excellent Wolverine run during Civil War and is now writing The Flash for DC which might turn out pretty good. You can find all 3 issues that came out on this thread. Actually #3 just came out last week I think.

Don't be alaramed. Bendis already confirmed in interviews that this is just a plot device. Ms Marvel is telling heroes this to try and get them to come in and register. Marvel's editor-in-chief also said as much in an interview and that Cap is in fact dead. For the time being of course.

i got the nighthawk mini and the hyperion mini (although i havent read em yet. i know steve dillion of garth ennis fame drew the nighthawk mini and id heard, as you reiterated that it rests on the MAX leeway and not much else, though the hyperion mini is supposed to advance the overall story) but not the doc spec. ill definitely get down on that one now. and the VS mini.

Damn good drop!! This series was WAAAYYYY better than the Civil War, and it had a better ending!

It was kinda funny though how they turned Drax the Destroyer into Riddick though! Still, that one big panel with him and Thanos was insane!!!!!

Don't sleep on this one fam!

I liked the way they developed second string characters into Saviors of the Universe. If they would have had the Avengers or Fantastic Four or even The Imperial Guard get involved it would have been corny.

Ronan came off like Thor, he kicked some ass in this series.

They turned Drax into a Cosmic Wolverine, with a young sidekick female and everything.

Nova , I guess will be the new Protector of The Universe.

Even Annihilus had Thanos working for him.

This got a 10 of 10, but I always like Cosmic themed comics.

oooooooWEEE!!! talk about a drop. undisputed classic. and, just so happens to be in pre-production for a 2008 release, directed by none other than the box office king of the week zach 300 snyder. of course, this adaptation has been in the works for as long as the book has been in print, but something tells me that mr 300 will be the one to finally get it done.

Yea this here is classic. I have this in hardcover on my bookshelf in PERFECT condition!

I pray GOD they don't screw this movie up!!

Seems like Marvel has always done the Cosmic Drama very well. But DC had something that hasn't been topped to this day:

One of the best comic series EVER written, neil gaiman was a genius with the Sandman and Endless shit.
I have ALL the Graphic Novels and some of the first run issues. Very adult, They should make a movie for this dude, BUT keep it like the comic ala frank miller.
