Dave said it on the Oprah show. White people were coming up to him and using the n word like it was nothing special. He thought we were past this blatant racism (Iono why the fuck he thought that - he hangs with 1 white dude and he thinks everything is cool? ), realized he was just making one stereotype after another on his show, and dipped.

The final straw was a segment where he was dressed in some racist costume, kinda like the Black Pixie segment (which I think was his last recorded segment), realized it was just a racist sketch with nothing funny about it, and left that day.

He wont say this to a white interviewer like Letterman, but thats it.

dave chappelle was just performing at radio city music hall last weekend,, i happened to be walking by a few hours before it started, but it was already sold out,, caught me off guard because i wasn't aware he was still doing comedy,, i thought he quit the biz completely
