NCAA puts the University of Alabama on a 3-year Probation (06/11/2009---06/10/2012). The violations happened during former Alabama coach, Mike Shula's tenure.

While NO Alabama games were 'forfeited', 21-games were 'vacated'. The accusations/violations did not create a "competitive advantage",rather did involve improper use or misuse of schlorships to obtain free text books for friends, girlfriends, family, etc.

21-student athletes representing 16-athletic programs, including men & women track & field, football, men basketball. Out of the accused 21-athletes, 7 were football players.

rules doesnt make since. how you do that to a program just for some athletes getting free books. only seven football players.....

Man, this whole case was bullshit. The only thing these players did was buy textbooks that they didn't need and sold them to others for profit. It was a hustle. What they did had no effect on anything on the football field, so I don't even know why they consider this cheating. The fact that Bama was in a probation window makes the penalties more severe for this offense than they would be for any other team.

MICKEY MOUSE RULES pushed by the NCAA! Books? Textbooks? Another reason why there needs to be more financial assistance for 'student athletes'!

this was definately some BS..not only was it just for some textbooks but it was proven that no profit was made off the textbooks. meanwhile USC still isnt on probation.. wtf..

attack bama but sweep that USC shit under the rug....Good Job NCAA...:smh:

I heard that the case involving Reggie's off-campus house was "settled" out of court, but any alleged school 'violations' are still under NCAA investigation.

Actually the school initiated the probe, by reporting the 'violations' to the NCAA in order to avoid harsher penalties, i.e., losing schlorships and/or bowl games.

USC does whatever the fuck they want.

Their football & basketball team are facing allegations but mofos is pretty much telling the NCAA to fuck off.
