Windhorst: NBPA is acting on a request from Bosh (1:16)

The NBA players' association has requested a meeting with the Miami Heat to try to resolve the situation with All-Star forward Chris Bosh, a source told ESPN's Brian Windhorst.

The NBPA issued a statement Tuesday that said, "Our top priority is Chris' health and well-being. We have spoken with Chris and his agent, and have reached out to the Miami Heat. We are hopeful that all parties involved can meet as soon as possible to resolve the situation."

Bosh, who joined the Heat for their playoff game Tuesday night against theToronto Raptors, asked for union help within the week, according to Windhorst.

Charlotte Hornets. Later, Bosh sent out a video on Snapchat of himself shooting in an empty AmericanAirlines Arena with the message, "Still got it."

The coordinated effort followed two losses to the Hornets to even that series 2-2. Bosh was in Charlotte with the team but has avoided interviews for months.

After the posts, the Heat repeated their position since February as team spokesman Tim Donovan told ESPN, "There is no update. He is still out indefinitely."

Bosh and the Heat have been in an unusual stalemate since March 10, when Bosh released a statement from his personal public relations firm saying, "I remain positive that I will be able to return this season."

The team has never officially given a reason for Bosh's absence, and coach Erik Spoelstra and president Pat Riley have not echoed Bosh's position that he will play again this season.

Bosh, 32, suffered blood clots in his lungs in 2015 that ended his season as he recovered. He was placed on blood-thinning medication that made it impossible for him to play contact basketball.

He played 53 games this season, averaging 19.1 points and 7.4 rebounds.

damn I aint know all that... that blood clot in the lungs sounds serious.

I wish him well and hope he comes back.. Miami gonna need him...

Bosh needs to seriously chill because God forbid his passes during a game his wife suing the team the league the doctors the union and every mofo known to man

I'm glad the heat ain't taking that chance. Way too much to lose

Damn u didn't know he had another break down

nah manye,

yall dont get it, I dont be watching t.v like that..

Im just going to now start watchin the playoffs...

and thats really only to see what Lebron do...

but put me up.. what kind of break down did he have tho...??

He's in a stage of denial. Just let it wear off. Bosh would help the Heat a lot but he needs to fall back.

What I mean about breakdown is this is the 2nd time this occurred, last year it forced him to sit the rest of the season out. Which many of us was like fuck bball, think about your life. I was more on that take two season off and let your body somewhat heals itself tip, if that makes sense.

Fast forward to this year

He got healthy over the off season everything was good, chances of the problem returning was small, then boom...he'd started have problems, got checked and they found another problem.

Steven A said Miami and team doctors are trying to get a injury wavier so they can get a mid level salary for next season.

Then they will let him play in December next year.

I guess no one realize what is truly going on and why Bosh has got the Union imvolved.

Bosh is completely Healthy. His condition was never serious or life threatening. He does not have blood clots in his lungs or deep vein clots in the legs.

The Heat want to sit him in order to get an insurance waiver on his salary in time for free agency.

That is why he is upset

maybe he hoping he could play just these few weeks and then relaxing on off season...

tragic shit....

Id say let him come back if the doctors clear him and if he shows any sign, then sit him out...

Where did u hear that?

If he dies on the court she'll fill real guilty. He and his family needs to put his health before the game. If he continues to have issues with blood clots he needs to hang it up. 2 rings and millions of dollars is a good look. Sit behind the desk as a analyst and enjoy life with his family.

Ok if that is the case his salary won't count against the cap for next season and still signed to the team along with the heat freeing up that money for free agency?

You might be right.. It was just confirmed both the heat and bosh agree for him to be done for the remainder of the season

I'm guessing Riley sat him down and showed him the long term game plan

I knew it was something else..these companies if they know they can hire you for cheaper they would go all out for it.

Yeah they can use a provision next season to free up cap space for his salary which they can use to add players.

Shit that means the Heat can get another big time FA (Durant) and still retain Bosh along with the core now

Dragic-Richardson
Wade-Winslow
Durant-JJ
Bosh -Deng
Whiteside - Amare

:itsawrap:

Actually you would be able to add two max players and this is not even counting Whiteside and what you would pay for Whiteside.

Reason being is that MiamI will be way under the cap come June as the all but 4 players will be under contract.

So you could sign3 max and use the bird rights to resign everyone else

Now I def believe Riles sat Bosh down and told him the plan because Bosh did an about face and agreed with the Heat he sit out the remainder of the season

This dude is trying to die of a pulmonary embolism on the court...I would imagine that its rough to just walk away from the game but they all gotta do it at some point

Isn't his wife the same woman that tried to finesse Lil Wayne by saying she had cancer. Chris would be best to not take her advice, when it comes to his life or death. :smh:

If he dies, she'll be like :money:

Chris Bosh, Heat Reportedly Clashed over PF Possibly Playing on Blood Thinners
Miami Heat forward Chris Bosh attempted to devise a strategy that would have allowed him to play during the 2016 NBA playoffs, but team doctors reportedly rebuffed him.

Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reported Sunday that Bosh wanted to take his prescribed blood thinners early in the morning so they would be out of his system by game time. The theory was it would lessen the likelihood of the All-Star forward having complications if he were cut or suffered an internal injury during a game.

Heat doctors rejected the plan, and Bosh sat out the entire playoffs. The 32-year-old missed the last 29 games of the regular season after being diagnosed with blood clots. It was the second straight year the condition, which can be life-threatening, forced him off the floor.

Michael Wallace of ESPN.com reported May 17 that Bosh and the team disagreed over how to handle the situation. The National Basketball Players Association launched an investigation into the matter on Bosh's behalf.

The Heat were steadfast in saying Bosh would have to be 100 percent before coming back. At his end-of-season press conference, team president Pat Riley said Bosh would only return "in a way that we all feel good about," per Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel.

"We are very encouraged by trying to find a way over the next two or three months to find a protocol and program to get him back playing," Riley said, per Winderman. "That's always been our objective. It's the X-factor in everything we're trying to do this summer."

ESPN.com's Brian Windhorst reported May 16 that Bosh may be forced into a medical retirement if the condition cannot be managed. His status looms large in an offseason that may shape the franchise's next half-decade.

Center Hassan Whiteside, plucked off the scrap heap and one of the NBA's best bargains over the last two seasons, will be an unrestricted free agent this summer. The Heat do not have his full Bird rights because he signed a two-year deal, which means they will likely be capped out if they bring him back.Dwyane Wade is also a free agent and should lock into the type of deal that could carry him to retirement.

Bosh, signed through 2018-19, returning at full strength would be the best thing for everyone involved. He was the Heat's most productive two-way player before going down, averaging 19.1 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. No one Miami could find on the free-agent market would bring his versatility or adaptability; a player with his game should also age gracefully.

But Bosh's health has and always will be the priority.

dude needs to stop playing with his health and retire

2 rings
multiple allstar appearances

youve done well for yourself sir...hang it up before something tragic happens
