Sorry Chomsky I'm a lil skeptical... Unless Obama know something we don't and he ready to take on Russia and China I doubt I see this happening well at least outright full scale invasion.. If anything iran might get attacked from the inside.

On the prospect of engaging Iran; it's not as far fetched as some of you are making it out to be. America and Israel have been threatening air strikes for nuclear non-compliance for years now and lately the saber-rattling has gotten more intense (hence the wacky statements of Ahmadenijad, golden missile displays etc).
I haven't listened to the lecture yet but Chomsky is one of the most well sourced thinkers ever imo and I'm willing to listen to what he has to say.
On the face of it, I have to hope that the Obama admin is substantially smarter than this.

but whether the US does the bombing or not, the effect will be the same bc any bombing by the Israeli's will be perceived to have been OK'd by the US. if the time comes that israel is about to bomb and obama steps in to give them an ultimatum to try and force them to step down, then i will readily admit that i was wrong. the only reason we aren;t being as militarily aggressive towards iran today is that we're already bogged down in two other wars and have 100K troops within range of iranian missiles/operatives. if we would never have invaded iraq and had hundreds of thousands of troops + hundreds of billions of dollars just sitting idle, best believe we'd be ready to march towards tehran

Let's say this again: American won't stop TIL it has influential MILITARY BASES in Iran. And America will wait it out more years than we can possibly imagine.
