NEW YORK (PIX11) – A chocolate syrup called “Boner Bears” is being recalled nationwide because it contains a male sexual enhancement drug not listed on the product label.
Lockout Supplements of Texas issued a voluntary recall on Wednesday because the product contains sildenafil, according to an FDA announcement.

Sildenafil, commonly known by its brand name Viagra, is often used to treat erectile dysfunction, according to the Mayo Clinic. FDA approval of Viagra is restricted to use under the supervision of a licensed health care professional.
“FDA approval of Viagra is restricted to use under the supervision of a licensed health care professional,” said the FDA. “This undeclared ingredient may interact with nitrates found in some prescription drugs, such as nitroglycerin, and may lower blood pressure to dangerous levels. People with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or heart disease often take nitrates.”

Boner Bears chocolate syrup was distributed nationwide online at lockoutsupplements.com. To date, no adverse events related to this recall have been reported to the FDA, according to the FDA.
