Again I ask, why were her two albums prior to that not successful?

He chose unknown artists songs that he didn't pay AT ALL. He just used that campaign to promote the show. And licensing a song on a show don't pay shit anyway. Even if he were to pay her it would be been no more than 1k. Spike Lee was full of shit on that.

If spike Lee was "thinking" about using that song, he would've had people contact her people and try to negotiate. But A) it ain't no money any damn way, and B) he only ended up using completely unknown artists songs could get over on them and they didn't get paid. Spike is full of shit.

But even if they don't, they're gonna be performing SPONSORED shows all week outside in the city. Cardi B is coming through. She's also got a Superbowl AD dropping that day. Gladys is gonna sing the anthem. The majority Black teams are gonna play. It's gonna be a star studded BLACK affair and all these people lying online are gonna be tuned in.
