Child's Play Remake/Sequel and Halloween Remake on the way

NOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Rob Zombie did an excellent job with the Halloween Remake and he was on point with how a story should be told. He's one of my all time favourite directors in hollywood. His movies have a lot of clever & just a very raw witty type dialogue and dark humor combined with action, which has now become his signature style of directing. Which probably explains why his directing style is always so engaging.

But to have Michael Bay at the wheel, nah man. He's only good for making or producing popcorn type movies where u just blow shit up and that is the extent of the plot.

Michael Bay needs to sit his ass down and stop trying to put his own little spin on classics.

and if he fucks up the Ninja turtles.....I swear to god...

these dudes need to get some new shit instead of fuckin up classics. never should have remade, halloween, elm street, chainsaw massacre or friday the 13th.

Yea I give Zombie credit. He did that remake JUSTICE. He put his own twist to it and still did a good job of paying ode to the past film.

This is how Michael Bay oughta go with the franchise....

I was scared of that little boy by the end of that movie. And it looked good.

Without the damn explosions :hmm:

With Michael Bay doing this shit, whenever Mike Myers stabs someone, they will explode :hmm:

:lol::lol::lol:

This is going to get ugly real quick. Bey is starting to hit Uwe Boll status. And I actually thought Transformers 3 was ok...but this is enough.

why must halloween get remade AGAIN? Rob zombie did a good job and it was just a few yrs ago.

childs play oughtta be interesting.

when i was a kid chuckie spooked the SHIT outta me. i was scared to go in the basement for years :smh:

but they should just let it be. it doesnt even seem like that long ago

seems he already has if the movie is just going to be called "Ninja Turtles"(yes they dropped the Teenage Mutant" from the title..apparently bay thought it was"silly")

:hmm:

See dude gonna try to go the serious route and is going to end up with this "i want an oscar so let me do my christian bale in a turtle suit but i really just come across as a douche in painted lycra" schtick and will fail. If this works and Bey doesn't John Carter my husband and bros in law (Mike! I love you!) I'll eat crow. Until then

Rob Zombie is a hack and a terrible director...he substitutes quality and substance with excessive cussing, rapes, and gratuitous violence that makes no sense..I like a violent movie, but his shit just beyond graphic with no plot development (the explosions)..he tries to be a throwback tot he 80s directors but his shit is just demented...again, he's a hack director who fucked up Halloween with that redneck bullshit

you'll be hard-pressed to find anyone that agrees with you because the Halloween remake he did was well received by almost everyone

I don't know why. I thought it was boring and stupid...everyone that saw it too agreed with me that it was bad..even the critics thought so..in fact, I thought they were too harsh..atleast Zombie tried, I guess..the greatest aspect of the original was that this thing was a Shape...the shape of evil...and Zombie made him a tormented kid who tortured animals and had fucked up redneck parents...its bullshit and lazy writing...

the original was terrifying...imagine the true shape of evil that kills for no reason other than to kill...very horrific...plus the atmosphere...the music, etc. Zombie's shit was laughable and corny

I do think Zombie's "Halloween" movies were excellent (you have to see the Director's Cut of the sequel, the theater version was edited into a mess). But Bay did a good job with the "Friday the 13th" and "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" remakes.

Zombie updated the Michael Myers concept for a modern audience. Michael Myers probably was a kid that tortured animals. He didn't just become a psycho when he killed his sister. Zombie put substance and modern context to the concept. Just doing a near shot by shot remake would have failed. He did what John Carpenter told him to do "make his own film" out of the original idea.

Ninjas remaking everything

Remakes are nearly as old as movies.

My cousin showed me "Child's Play". She was 3 years older than me. I was 10 when I saw that movie. Chucky fucked me up at an early age! I can remember her rolling off of me being shook off of some of her dolls!
apparently the people who originally created Chucky will be the ones that will remake it..so no biggie..
Cool! The first Chucky was the shit! Then after that he got chatty more and more every sequel. Reminded me how the first two "Nightmare on Elm Streets" were good, then after that Freddy got chatty and cheesy.

But no one could curse like Chucky though! I think whoever does a Child's Play remake should bring back the guy who does the voice of Chucky, no other voice would be right!

Are you serious

He still was the shape of evil, he was born evil. He just couldn't fully act on it.

But you think of someone killing just to kill is great writing.

And what critics are going to like a slasher movie? Did they like the original when it was released?

Yea I give Zombie credit. He did that remake JUSTICE. He put his own twist to it and still did a good job of paying ode to the past film.

Zombie did Holloween Justice. He explained why Mike was the way he was. I liked the way he made Mike swole and cut up instead of a typical skinny white boy

i didn't like the Halloween remake , but for the most part i didn't like the original either, the movie got props from me based on the theme music and the creepy mask which is the best horror mask ever imo.

This right here ^^^^. They kill great characters with this shit.

No, they didn't but they do now. Critics kill slasher movies except "smart" movies like "Scream"
I thought the idea of filling in the holes of what happened before he murdered his sister was good writing. And just when it seemed like he was going to make Myers "sympathetic" he had him kill the one person who was nice to him at the mental hospital even as he begged for his life.

Zombie is whack and a hack. Those movies were,t well received. They made some loot but horror films usually come out as winners in the box office. Also, there are plenty of people who agree with you but the public these days aren't as discerning as they used to be.

No man, Zombie does the same shit in every movie he directs...adds some redneck weirdo who cusses and kills for the fun of it...
the reason I say it was good writing for the original was because the reasoning was so ambiguous...it was really left up to the viewer..who was Michael and why was he doing this? the mystery of it was why it was so chilling...

Zombie's shit is all the same in all his movies...I got bored with it after House of 1000 Corpses

Both those movies were dumb...in fact, horror remakes have been terrible..

Halloween
Friday the 13th
Nightmare on Elm Street
Texas Chainsaw Massacre
The Fog
The Omen
The Thing (2011)
The Last House On the Left
Amityville
Psycho
Wicker Man
The Haunting
Prom Night
The Hitcher
I Spit On your Grave
Wolf Man

I may be forgetting some, but they all have been embarrassing...I'm against remakes because some classics need to be left alone...Halloween could have been good and I was anticipating it, but it turned into a stupid hack job by Zombie

The only good remakes: Let Me In, The Blob (1988), The Thing (1982), The Fly, Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978), Dawn of the Dead (2004)

I hated the Halloween remake, never saw pt. 2. Friday, Chainsaw and Elm St. were ok....Childs Play could use a refresher but I think Halloween should be left alone already. Zombie already made me not care about it. That said, Bay has proven to be a money maker which is why he is given the chance to produce these films and lets be honest, it isn't like these films are quality upscale award winning hollywood productions....
