Dope boys financially investing in the dreams of their peers means they are reinvesting their resources into something holding back their community.
Not to mention how it is quite odd to be a man and have another man bankrolling your passions and endeavors.

Preaching, coaching, and long hauling are legit jobs, not sure why any man about his business is checking for the opinions of pheasants.

Since the OP is a woman, I believe she is referring to when D boys used to trick on the pretty girls that made it out of the hood / off the block.
Which was a thing.
She's saying that they left the D boy lifestyle behind and since they now have respectable jobs with more "regular" incomes, they're definitely not tricking anymore.

Sh*t was just goofy, that’s all.
Them dope boys wasn’t handing out grants and stipends to bishes on the block; that chicken came with conditions that had to be met or else they’d “bless” another one. Maybe once expectations are relaxed and re-evaluations performed, they’ll realize them other dudes is steady.
