Both videos and the store closings in Chicago are unrelated to this current issue with the teens wilding out in downtown Chi.
The first video is three years old and is about a Walmart that was destroyed during the George Floyd protests. That store was since restored. It has nothing to do with the recent mob of kids in the downtown area.
That video was recently reposted on TikTok and then posted a day ago to YouTube from the TikTok account of a white Trumper. The account holder is standing next to Trump in a MAGA hat in his profile pic.
The second video is from a Fox News affiliate and the "expert" whose opinion they got is from a right wing think tank.
They are closing the stores because they are losing money like all big box stores due to online shopping alternatives and the Walmart store closings are happening around the country- not just in Chicago. One of the Chicago stores closing is in an affluent yuppie neighborhood on the North Side (Lakeview). So what that Illinois Policy Institute cracka was trying to insinuate about crime is bullshit.

My family grew up on the south side of Chicago and left there long ago due to shit like this and nothing being done about it. The difference between this and that flash mob shit is... as long as you keep it over there and kill each other nobody gives a fuck. I'd damn sure want a gun in that neighborhood. Hell as a kid it's not like you can just move... you have no choice but to just deal with that shit everyday. That's why it's so easy to convince so many of them to join. Low income area, few two parent homes and a constant influx of easily accessed guns. These kids ain't got no outlets in their communities. Therefore they flow out of theirs and into others whether that's the mall, movies, and other areas. When I was a shawty there was absolutely zip for kids between 12 and 18. The YMCAs have been shut down in Chicago by and large, there are less than a dozen in the entire city and most of those are not in black communities. The city has to find outlets for the kids, the parents have to be proactive, kids need shit to do or they gonna crack some heads.

Yeah bruh I knew a lot of Gangsta Disciple's and Vice Lords, I grew up with them since we were kids. I was playing football though so most of my time after school I was at football practice. Plus I feared my mother more so I wasn't trying to be in a gang lol. I was cool with them niggas throughout elementary and high school. When I'd see brotha's get shot and killed or end up in jail, that convinced me even more that I wasn't going down that path. Did I make mistakes, of course! But I wasn't going to make that fatal mistake that I couldn't come back from, fuck that. It's way more opportunities out here now for these young muthafuckas than it was when I came up. I just don't know how someone can watch that video and start making excuses for them young muthafuckas..
