One of Rauner's first actions was to cut funding to boys and girls club in Illinois.

I volunteer at one in my city. 300+ kids at peak times are there and they only pay $30-$50 a year if anything to come. Mostly non white kids.

If these kids didn't have the boys & girls club to go to for 8-10 hours a day I know they would be out in the streets. We already see each year at least 1-2 kids that passed through dead from violence.

If you donate to charities think about the boys and girls club. The Y has more corporate donations then the boys and girls club. Boys and Girls club do so much more for non white kids but struggle getting donations.

Not just that but Cease Fire and groups like it reduced violence from 40% to 70% in neighborhoods then the funding was gone because of the budget I'm pass and you end up with 700+ murders this year
