As in what? It’s nothing like NYC to me it’s not dense like that. The only other city / area with a density close to that with a large population is the Bay Area. San Francisco feels like Manhattan more than anywhere in Chicago.

My family on my mother's side was part of the great migration to California with most in the Oakland area and I used to go to Oakland in the summers growing up..

It is nothing like NYC to me . The west and east coasts are opposites.

Density might be the only thing...And of course, that density also reflects on real estate prices cause like Manhatten,San Fran has no place left to build.
