Someone tried to duplicate one of my checks and cash it using a mobile app. The check looked close to the orginal but the check numbers were way too far ahead of where my actual checks were. I spotted it with the quickness and got it shot down. $9,000.

^Same here, I set up account alerts after I hit for $1000. in Direct TV charges. It was easy for the $ to leave my account, not so easy to get the transactions overturned. It was about 7-10 business days, for Chase to get that shit sorted.

Same shit happened to me last year. I'm in California. They hit me for $50 at a restaurant that was about 30 miles away from me. That transaction went through. Then they tried to hit me for $2,500 for a different transaction somewhere in Oregon. That transaction was stopped because I called on the $50 transaction. They asked me did I make a $2,500 purchase in Oregon. I said, "No... I can't make it from So Cali to Oregon back to Cali in that short amount of time."

Be careful y'all... Thank goodness I called.

Agreed. Cousin’s wife had her CC compromised a few years back. Those transactions flew under the radar as they were smaller convenience store types of purchases. When those went unquestioned, gradually they were pricier ones that got red-flagged.
